Hi All,

 

Finally the long journey to citizenship is over and I am US Citizen now. I had my N-400 interview at Newark , NJ on Sept 26th and I was approved and did oath on same day :)

Have a question for you guys because I don’t know what to tell my friend because he is in this situation now. His interview for citizenship is nov 8th base on marriage 3 years . And his wife just filed for divorce today . Is that gonna affect the interview and denied him.

Checked the website. My interview letter is on the way. NYC  November 21st. I submitted my application Jan 3rd to the Texas lockbox. Was accepted on the 7th. Walked in for the fingerprints on the 15th. I didn’t hear anything until now

Tomorrow is my oathtaking day at US Eastern District Court in BrOoklyn, NY. But,  I got a call this lunch but i missed the call, so she left me a voice mail. She said that  after the ceremony i need to go back to the place where I got interviewed which is the Federal Plaza Bldg. she said i need to submit 2 2x2 passport photos before i can claim my certificate. So does it mean I won’t get the certificate at the ceremony???? I didn’t know that i need to submit 2x2 photos. As i know they took me picture at the biometrics and at my interview too. So why do i need to submit photos if they took me picture before ???? I hope I’m not the only ome tomorrow

And everything was positive yesterday. 20 minutes interview, easy questions , I got approved on spot like I thought. And the IO said in 2 or 3 weeks I will receive Oath ceremony letter.  Checked the online status this morning still saying we schedule your interview. SMH

I had my interview this morning everything went well lasted about 20 minutes. The interviewing officer said she wouldn’t able to grant my approval on the spot because I had an arrest and all arrest has to be approved by a supervisor. But she’s recommending it for approval. Which should happen by days end.

Just an update. I just check my case online and it’s now saying “we approved your application” now I just have to wait for the ceremony date and my journey will be at its end with the immigration process.

I brought all the copied documents I submitted, original copies and recent 2018 ITR and recent bank statements. She only asked for 10yearGC, old and new passport and ID. 

 

She handed me a paper that has a marked on "YOU PASSED THE ENGLISH TEST........  and  "CONGRATULATIONS........."

 

GOODLUCK to those who are still waiting. You too will make it!!!

DONT OVERDO IT LIKE ME, I memorized even the vocabulary words, ended up with a lot of sleepless nights! YOU'LL BE FINE! :)

Nov 18, 2019   US PASSPORT arrived (2 weeks and 2 working days)

 

I am now waiting for the original naturalization certificate to arrive in the mail so I can go to Social Security for change status.
