I filed on January 16 and still no noa2, I see that lots of people from March begin approved, what should I do? Or is there anything to do?

You should do nothing and here is why. USCIS promised you one thing, an answer of YES or NO on your application. They didn't promised you would have it on such and such date. There is so much that goes into the background checks that we are just not that aware of. Patience is the only thing that will get you through this process

There are many tools out there that you can follow your status through this entire process. What you will find is most are only "estimates" because the tools or people cannot tell you with any certainty when you will receive this or that. The best recommendation I can give you is just go about your daily life and let the process grind through. At this point there is nothing anyone can do to "speed" things up. If you would like something that is easy to use and will alert you to any "movement" on your case get the phone app. The links are below in my signature. Install it, add your information and forget it till it rings. You will have less grey hair, a wider smile and a happier life but if you choose to cause angst in your life by checking websites every 5 minutes then of course that is your choice. Just know that this is a slow process and what anyone else "gets" before you or after you is because each case is unique and certain items are required and or requested by USCIS to render a verdict on your application/I-129F.

One more item if you please:

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Submitted my i-129f back in January to USCIS for my Brazilian fiancee, and it'll be 5 months tomorrow that I received the NOA1...still nothing...anyone know how accurate the processing times are on the USCIS website (5.5-7.5 months for the California Service Center)?

See my response above as well as updating your profile.

These are only estimates and some applicants are beginning to see 3-4 months for turnaround and just a few months ago it was 8 plus. so it is now moving faster. Just need more patience.

Yes. It's an easy fix. Just send a letter to update the application.  Sooner is better. Here is a letter to use. Replace the information with her's. She can bypass the lawyer and do it herself.

This letter has worked for others to correct errors or for missing documentation or errors that you would like to update, correct or add.

Hello,

My Fiance was able to secure a date for his interview but it is one day after our initial I-297 form approval notice is valid. Does anyone have any suggestions? can he still go for the interview?

Yes you can go to the interview. I would have a new letter of intent prepared. One from petitioner and one from the beneficiary.  They can be scanned and emailed and printed on the other end for the interview. Doing this step can save you from having a 221g issued at the end of the interview for the letters. They may ask for it and they may not but we have seen plenty of embassies ask for it so I for one am recommending it to anyone in your situation.

Here's the deal. If you are missing any documents then the CO will issue you a 221(g) which instructs you to what is needed to complete the information that the CO needs to issue you your visa. You gather the requested documents and return them back to the embassy following their directions in the 221(g). Once returned the CO will finish adjudicating your case. No one with any certainty can tell you how long it will take till your visa is issued. So please don't ask and don't assume. The interview is simple and doesn't take long. At this stage you are pretty much approved, unless you have "dark" secrets. :D Just kidding.

Here is a link that should be read so that you can be clear on what others are saying about their experience so you are prepared for the wait.
