Long time lurker here. Got an rfe dated May 20th for passport size photos today in the mail. It asks for the alien registration number(if known) to be written on the back of the photos we submit. Where can I find this number (we havent received NOA2 yet)?

You won't  have one until you get your NOA2.

The first place that you will see an "A" Number is on your NOA2. If it were me I would use my WAC number (receipt number) found on the upper left corner of your NOA1. Use it instead of the "A" number. Also add the person's name with the number on the back of the photo. This should be acceptable. In your return letter I would outline your dilemma as I have done above. Good luck.

Should we be worried? Still no NOA2 and No RFE...

My fiance has been to the US on a J1 Visa in 2011 and already holds a SSN. There were no issues with her visa and leaving and her J1 did not require the 2 year rule even though she did return home for 2 years after. She is a Filipino that currently holds residency in Kuwait. I know there are not many K1 visa applicants from Kuwait(at least that post their status on this site), but could they be trying to get a background check in both the Philippines and Kuwait that could be holding it up? Neither of us have any criminal records. We have met 3 times in the past 2 years, and have been to 4 different counties together. We included full itineraries with both our names on them for each trip as well as all the matching passport stamps, and pictures. I thought it would have been unnecessary and overkill to include boarding passes and hotel receipts(since the receipts would only have my name on them since I booked them). I also included snippets of chat records dating back to 2017 when we first met. I know that everyone's case is different and some time they may take more time then others, but it seemed to me that our case would kinda be open/shut since she is already in the immigration system here in the states. We are getting worried because we have noticed that a lot of people with a lot of with NOA1 dates way after ours(March) have received NOA2.

I-129F Packet sent on Jan 21st 2019

I-129F Packet delivered on Jan 23rd 2019

I-129F Packet received date Jan 23rd 2019 (From NOA1)

NOA1 from CSC notice date of Jan 28th 2019 (Postmarked Jan 29th 2019)

First question, where will she do her interview?

You are currently within normal processing times. Follow the changes that take place with USCIS case processing times here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info

Select the Philippine flag and review the tools that are there to help in determining other cases so you can compare yours against theirs.

She will do her Interview in Kuwait Embassy.  Yeah I know its 5 to 7 months  currently at CSC and we are at 4 months 5 days. It just seems weird that people are getting NOA2's that filled in march. :(
