Congratulations!! Does the notice in the mail come in a regular size letter envelope? Or a Big 8X10" Envelope? Just curious because my post office does not scan images of the Larger envelopes.

Does anyone know if this first step takes longer depending on what country?

Good question, there are some countries that might take additional screening but nothing is really set in stone in regards to the waiting time, or so I’ve read.

@Sarge2155 and @Greenbaum might be able to give more insight. 😊Good luck!!!

If you are referring  to the NOA2 it is a case by case deal. It may at times depend on the country to insofar as the background checks, mostly it depends on the case and throw the adjudicator in there too. All these are variables.

Hi guys, I'm currently filling out my DS-160. At the part where it asks for mother and father's names, are they asking for mother's maiden name or married name?

Also, if anyone can point me towards a thread that is Philippines-specific regarding DS-160, I would appreciate it very much. (I ask because of the local relevance of middle names here, and they are not the "given names" that the DS-160 asks. My instinct says leave them out and stick with just the first name/s. But then again I might be omitting something relevant if I do. I'm not sure.)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! 😁
