Can anybody tell me if there's a status inbetween recieved and approved at the uscis page? I know that it shows update dates when they're working on it but is there a change in text saying something like: we're working on it? Except for receiving a RFE, that's something I don't want to see 😉

NOA1 is the only notification except for RFE and NOA2. That's the first process.

Hi all, I was hoping someone could help clarify something for me. My fiance has to fill out the I-134 Affidavit of support after I get my NOA2, and she lives alone in the place she rents, as far as guidelines go the Minimum income is 16500 PA, which she earns more than, but not 125% more. do we need to file jointly with someone like her parents to meet the 125% marker? she has about half of the annual earnings in savings, can we add that as savings and use that as further support?

anyone been through similar and can advise? thanks

Understand that 100% and 125% are guidelines. Embassies can, and some do requite amounts greater than that. Also you WILL need to satisfy 125% for I-864 which you will need to file after PoE in order to become legal permanent resident. Finding a joint sponsor at this stage would be prudent in my opinion. Also remember to use new version of I-134 form.

@Shiran extended a good explanation. I would also advise that you participate in this thread with others from SA as each embassy is different and we are not all experts on each individual embassy. General questions from our experience or knowledge can be answered but not from the embassy.

The best thing you can do is head on over to this thread and make yourself comfortable and knowledgeable from others who are processing from SA. Link is here.

Can we do a NOA1/received date check? I will go first:

NOA1: 1/3/19

Received Date: 12/28/18

NOA1 is the "Case Was Received" date right? Mine is actually 02/01/2019.

No. The noa1 will have a different received date and notice date.

Where though? Not on the USCIS site- there is one date- case was received 02/01. I know they received the actual package 01/30 or thereabouts. I have never received any other "dates" from them. I mean, I got a really generic letter in the mail. It mentioned no dates. Am I supposed to go off when I received that letter?

It's all confusing 😖

Ok. If you look at the dates on the sites u will notice that the received dates are different. If you look at your noa1...you will see the words "received date" and "notice date"

Now I'm so lost... I've been thinking my NOA1 is the received date. The generic seeming letter I received in the mail didn't seem to have dates but I'll read it again. This is what we have:

You have to look at your physical copy.

There isn't any real value in have the "correct" NOA1 date as it isn't used for anything. I'd suggest that you just move on and study the different threads and areas of information so you are prepared when the times comes. First place to explore is to select your flag in your profile on the left column here and see where it takes you and what you'll learn there. :D It's worth the admission price. :)
