After getting our case number on Nov 24 and waiting for our Payment to process with NVC. Thinking about documents to get ready. One thing I saw a lot in this group is “ tax transcripts”.

Can’t  we just use  copies of W2 to show financial support? I have W2s for the last 3 years together with a letter from HR in my company showing how much I make.

Do i I still need to get “tax transcripts” like I need reading so much in this forum?

please and thanks for the response

We had to resubmit the AOS on 1/9/2019.  It wasn't dated.  We got a case complete on 1/22/2019.  If that helps you.

It asks for either your transcripts or your tax returns..dont think W2s are enough ...u can send the w2 in under additional documents

I think if you want to use the last 3 years of W2s you have to send W2s with 1040s together.  Otherwise, you can send the transcripts.

Download camscan in ur phone . You dont need a scanner. Try it out and save the docs ahead of time.

Did you skip filling the DS-261, or you did at once filling and paying the fees?

Sorry i mean DS-260

If I remember correctly, you are not even given the option to fill the DS-260 or upload documents until AFTER you pay the fees AND the status changes to PAID

Did u submit tax transcript or w2 wil be enough?

We submitted W2's and 1040EZ forms for past 3 years, past 6 months pay-stubs, and letter from employer. We did not submit tax transcripts. All of our documents were accepted, and our embassy interview date is scheduled for next Monday Feb 4.

Okay, i think this question will be relevant to some other people here, as the 2018 Tax Season is just starting.

Now, on i864, it asks for our CURRENT INCOME.  I have NOT filed my 2018 Taxes however. So, I just entered in my best guess which is $24,000 (and I am 99.99% sure that this number is within one thousand of the real value).

So, I can either:

1. Just send it in now.  And if they want evidence of this $24,000, they will ask for it later.

or

2. I can wait a week.  My accountant says he will be done my 2018 Tax return on Saturday. At that point, I will be able to upload my official Tax Return on the CEAC website.

Now, I have a joint sponsor, so i am not really even relying on my $24,000 to put me over the poverty line.   So, i'm not sure this $24,000 even matters.

What would you do?
