Good Afternoon!

I think that I officially belong in this group now. NVC just confirmed that they received my case today, Friday January 25th and that I should allow up to 8 weeks to receive my case number! Looks like 8 weeks is a real thing...doesn’t mean I won’t hope for less!

Timeline:

Texas Service Center

NOA1: July 11

NOA2: January 9

Sent to NVC: January 17

NVC Received: January 25

Case number: Pending...

Hello!

I am behind most of you guys by a few weeks, but I was curious as to how NVC assigns case numbers as far as order goes if anyone knows.  Is it assigned in chronological order from when received like USCIS, or does it depend on your processing center and country’s embassy? I’ve seen some people receive case numbers faster and some slower with the same NVC received date.  Thanks!

Got our case number this past Thursday (24th) and immediately paid the fees on that night.

Anyone know how long they take to process the payments?

The website does not allow you to proceed any further until the payment is accepted

It takes 2-3 business days to process the payments. You should be able to access the other parts of the website on Monday or Tuesday.

3/1/2021 - I-751 Filed

3/29/2021 - NOA Received

7/29/2021 - Biometrics

12/16/2021 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview

I am, but now wondering if I need to list the rest of my family who live there too but not include earnings.

The term household member applies to people you financially support or financially support you. Did you file these people on your taxes? If they are not dependents of yours they would not be considered household members for the purpose of NVC. Living together does not mean they are your household members for financial purposes. Look at the household member question on the I-864 and see if they fall in any of the categories. The least amount of household members the better, because they deduct from your overall income.

Did you call NVC for your case number, or received an email?

yes he is a household sponsor so that is i864A

Household sponsor is someone you financially support or someone that financially supports you, not someone that physically resides with you. Does your father claim you as a dependent on his taxes? If he doesn’t he would need to file an I-864 along with you. He would have to fall in one of the categories for household member on the I-864 to be a household member. Household members are your dependents/children and your husband.
