We received our interview date notice today. It is July 9th. I want to say "Yey! I got it!!!!", but we are so bombed by our interview date;(

We are having our huge wedding in California on July 7th, and we supposed to leave to Hawaii from there until July 18th for our honeymoon. We live in Boston, so our interview is in Boston and we have to come back to the east coast. Flight and Hotel for honeymoon are non refundable, and so we will loose so much money.....my husband is very upset. I have been in this country for over 12 years and this type of thing happened to me twice before. I cried when I couldn't go home because USCIS lost my passport back in 1996 when I was a student here in U.S, and I cried when my husband (then my boyfirend) gave me a surprise trip to Bahama as a Christmas present but I couldn't go becuase my H1B visa didn't have a stamp by USCIS. This is the third time....and I feel so unlucky. I really do want to say 'forget it, I will take a chance and I will try to re-schedule the interview" becuase I don't want to see my husband so upset. He spent so much money and effort for planning this honeymoon and now, we have to cancel it for our honeymoon and he won;t get any money back! I am so sad and angry.....and I don' t know what to do. Has anyone here ever tried to reschedule AOS interview?

Maybe you should make an infopass, go in and talk to someone at the Boston office about rescheduling your appointment. Bring in you trip information and documents etc. They have tons of appointments available all the time and are pretty helpful there.

Thanks Jane2005 and Devilet,

I just scheduled an infopass for Wed morning. I want to try before giving up. Hopefully smile will come back to my husband's face:)

Do that and make sure that you have things stating that the money paid is non-refundable.

I'm sure that they will help you, be nice, and they will help you, it might delay your process but at this point it is ok if it takes another few weeks after july, 9th.

Good luck !

My husband decided that he doesn't want to take a risk after he spoke to our attorney, and we cancelled our flight and hotel to Hawaii.

It hurts us very much, but hopefully we will say it was worth cancelling our honeymoon in the future.
