More Vaccination Confusion

I've done a search on VJ to find posts and threads dealing with the vaccination requirements for AOS and I need some help to work through the confusion.

This (link) was posted today and this (link) was posted on April 5th, 2007.

The requirements in the first link, which is a USCIS doc, are: "Section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act specifies the following vaccinations: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and hepatitis B. Section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act states that the applicant is also required to have any other vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The ACIP provides guidelines on appropriate doses of vaccines at specific intervals for specific age groups. The varicella, influenza, and pneumococcal vaccines are also required, because they are currently recommended by the ACIP. "

The requirements (for adults 18-64) in the second link are: td (adult tetanus and diptheria toxoids), mmr (measles, mumps and rubella), and varicella (chicken pox).

So, my question is, are the requirements in the first one generalized and that's why there are more (and some that are specifically for children)? Or, do I also need all of the vaccinations mentioned in the first document? Also, for the varicella vaccination, do adults who have already had the chicken pox have to get the vaccination?

This is where I had my medical done in Toronto and the required vaccinations for the K-1 process and AOS are the same. You will notice that depending on your age, different vaccinations are needed. As far as chicken pox goes, they will accept a verbal declaration that you had chicken pox already (if you have) and therefore will not need the vaccination. Speaking as someone who had chicken pox at 25 though, if you have not had it.. go get the vaccine! lol.

Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiance - Vaccination Requirements

All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus and diptheria toxoids

Pertussis

Influenza type B

Hepatitis B

Varicella

Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

If you have had chicken pox you don't need the vaccine. Just tell them you have had it and if they don't believe you ask to get your titers checked.

I didn't have to get the flu vaccine because it wasn't "flu season" when I got my supplemental form filled out.

You also have the option of signing a waiver and therefore you don't need any vaccines if it is for religious purposes but this costs money.

You only need the ones that are age appropriate to you, which, assuming you are between 18-64 are:

td (adult tetanus and diptheria toxoids), mmr (measles, mumps and rubella), and varicella (chicken pox).
