Montreal Interview

Does EVERY Canadian get scheduled for an interview in Montreal? If so, will I have to bring my 2 children - ages 8 & 12. (They are also being petitioned for) 

 

Also, do we send the I-130 from Canada to the Chicago Lockbox or to Montreal?

Every immigrant visa applicant gets an interview, including children. All immigrant visa cases are handled at the Montreal consulate.

 

The I-130 would be filed to the lockbox in the US. DCF is not available for Canada except in exceptional circumstances.

Thank you for the prompt response. And bummer dragging two kids all the way to Montreal for ‘a day’.

We made a nice long weekend out of it--lots to see and do in Montreal including for a couple of kids.  It was annoying to have to spend the money on it, but it was fun in the end.  The Montreal embassy is rather chill if your papers are in order, so we were in and out of there for the actual immigration part in no time.
