I dont like to be picky but you can get connected to an officer when calling the 800 number.

You can get connected with various levels of people through that number, non of which can help you with your missing EAD.

It happens. I agree. It happened to me several times. When the customer service rep. could not answer my question, she connected me to his/ her supervisor. But there is nothing they can do about EAD.

Once something really strange happened. I entered my case number (my case in Vermont) and somebody answered me saying this is officer ... from Vermont Service center. He was really nice and helped me out with my problem.

But before talking to this person, I talked at least 10 other people. My problem was, I never received a receipt number. Most of the customer service reps couldn't help me saying that they need a receipt number to find the case. But I kept on calling and finally I got connected to a supervisor and she found my case by searching by name, birth date etc. Then, we realized that my case was approved more than a month ago. I never got anything. Then, We realized that they mailed the approval notice to my home country address even though I indicated my mailing address as my USA address. And most tragic part was the address they send it was totally wrong. So, I never got the letter. When I asked them I need the approval notice asap for my other application. They told me to fill out form I-824 to ask for a duplicate notice. I told them it is not my mistake, I don't want to pay $200 and wait for 6 months to get a duplicate notice. That person told me that there is nothing she can do.

I kept on calling the customer service again and that was the time I had chance to talk to an officer at Vermont. He totally understood my situation (he was really nice) and I got the approval notice within a week at my address. If you ask me how I got connected to Vermont service center, I have no clue. Just luck!

Oh!. Sorry to hear that. We just found out the following page:

http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/editorial_0482.shtm

I think it is a good idea to write here. Please try. It is unbelievable some people get their EAD's within ave. of 75 days and some people have to wait.

And yours is more strange that, you did not have your biometrics. Please call 800 number again, talk to them again. It should make sense at least to one person there.

Good luck. I wish I could do something

Hey Dwish...I hear ya!!!! I applied for my EAD ...26 January , NOA1 2 Feb, its been

"120 days" and I have not been contacted for my Biometrics as of yet!

at 60 days I did an info pass appt...They looked at the file and nothing has been done.

At 90 days,

I called the 800 info line and they just said we will send a message to the California Service

Center. and still "NOTHING"!!!! at this point! They suggested if I don't here anything within

the next 45 day to call back, by this date it will be 15 June!

I am not impressed!

thanks for the website will make a note of this if I have any further problems.

I called the 800 line again and they have now sent an email red flagging my

problem. I hope they can act on this fast!

Sounds like a fairly normal timeline to me.

to the OP--please call and/or make an infopass appt. If you get a nice person you may be connected to an officer.

I was connected to a real $#%@ yesterday. She told me that I agreed to support my husband for 10 years by signing an Aff of Support. I was like fine...but he needs to work as well. She was like...well i understand maam..but you have to wait...

I was also told that depending on the "kind of background check" they will delay EADs. She said she can't tell me anything as hubby has to call. Anyhow, to be honest, I dont think they have the latest info but they can tell you why you're stuck.

Best of luck--and i hope no one has to wait as long as we have been waiting...

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!
