Yea, I'm not even trying to estimate dates until our packet gets to NVC, but after that everything seems to go pretty smooth. The Embassy in Kyiv seems to get packets ready quick and it's easy to get appointments.

Just a heads up, police records can be done at any time and medical can be done as soon as you have your NVC number, so you might as well get those knocked out as soon as possible. The police records can take a while to get, up to 30 days in Ukraine.

She is already working on the police records, and her sister is helping with the things she needs from Tiraspol since she still lives there. I already sent her all the fees and money for transportation to Kyiv when the time comes.

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

wow, I like your detailed plan there.  Sounds just like what I've got mapped out....targeting an April 7 approval here.   Just to compress things, you know you can do the DS-160 now, right?  We've completed the DS-160....which she did initially, then saved, then I logged on to review.   Today, the DS -160 will be submitted, the GSS will be completed, and the fee will be paid.....which completes Packet 3.  I sent the I-134  couple of weeks ago.  As soon as we get "Ready" status, the completed Packet 3 is mailed to embassy.   In Bangkok, they select the interview date.

GSS?

Yea we went ahead and knocked out the DS160 already too. We're trying to take care of things as soon as possible so when our packet finally does start moving everything's already in order and we can take the first possible date. Soon as visa is in hand she'll be flying in that following Friday, even if it's the next day.

Perfect. Yea the length of time to get the police records caught me off guard. I'm glad I had her go take care of it early, or we probably would have ended up waiting on it. A lot of people do.

GSS?

This may be unique to Bangkok, I don't know.   It's in our Packet 3 instructions.

CONFIRMATION PRINTOUT OF GLOBAL SUPPORT STRATEGY (GSS) REGISTRATION:

Each applicant must create his/her own profile and register his/her mailing address with the GSS system at www.ustraveldocs.com/th.  Be sure to print out the CGI Pay Instruction Sheet and Bay Bank Deposit Slip from your profile as you will need both documents to make fee payment

Yea that's definitely not in the Kyiv instructions. First time seeing that.

Yes, that's an option.   But I told her to start the DS-160.   Once she had it completed, she saved it without submitting.   She then sent me application number and the logon credentials.   I logged on and checked everything, and answered her questions.   So we did work on it together, but just at different times.   Just wanted to let you know that's an option.   I was not aware that we could do it in that manner until I started looking at it.   Now, we have the DS-160 completed......she is just going to load the digital photograph, and submit today ,and print off a confirmation that this was completed for our Packet 3.

Did you also pay already? I completed my DS-160 without submitting as well but I thought that payment can only be made after embassy processes our case and sends a letter? I'm not sure that's why I'm asking 😁

Also, congratulations on finally receiving NVC number!✌🏻

Btw, it's probably a silly question but did you have any problems with photograph on DS-160? I did a photo precisely for that and it matches all criteria but when I uploaded it the quality of it was so bad, it's partly pixelated/blurry. Is it the website's compression tool? Because my original image is good quality and big enough 🤔

That’s why I was sooo confused because I was told by NVC back in Jan 30 (the day i first called and got my case number over the phone) when I asked the status they said they have to return it to USCIS because of an incorrect stamp. But then I got a case number also emailed to me Monday, 2/11

Case# MNL**********

peritioners name: La...

pricipal applicants name: Ri...

preference category: K1

your priority date : Aug 9

Foreign country chargeability: Philippines

So I just received a letter from USCS

“our records show that your I-129F is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a complete date at this time. We apologize for the delay. “

Im a bit lost on what I should do Next? Do I call USCIS tomorrow and ask for a tier 2? 😫

We are paying today.  Our instructions say to do the DS-160, then that GSS confirmation which is some sort of instructions for payment, and finally to make the payment.  Confirmation of each of these three actions is required in our Packet 3 submission.   As soon as our NVC case changes to "ready".....(hmm, or "in transit" too i have to look back in this thread) we can submit Packet 3.  Yes, the Embassy sends a formal document with Packet 3 instructions, but the same instructions are posted on the Bangkok Embassy website so we've got it done and ready to go.  You don't have to wait for the Embassy to send you the instructions......you can send it as soon as you get "ready" status.   Thanks for the congrats.........yeah, was pretty happy about that.   On track for a trip to Thailand for the month of April.  Will be fun.

I don't know how she did on the picture.   She is loading that today.   They have passport photo shops all over Bangkok, and they do a good job.

OK, I looked back...........the official word is that you can send Packet 3 as soon as the case goes to "received" or "ready".    One guy indicated he sent his a few weeks ahead of "ready" status and it worked out fine.   Based on all the responses I got, I'm figuring it this way.............Feb 19/20 from NVC to Embassy should be there on Sunday Feb 24.  (yeah, they deliver on Sundays in Bangkok).   So Monday morning, Feb 25, regardless of status, we'll send our Packet 3 using same day service.   Bangkok schedules the interviews, and from what I've seen, it's going to be 4-5 weeks.

This is an email, not a letter right?  You'll get these periodically even after your visa is issued/married etc. Dont sweat them.

Hey just on the photo thing - did you scan in photos you had taken? I needed to increase the resolution when I scanned my photos I got taken in a photo booth. First time I scanned them in they were too pixelated when I uploaded and it said “head size or position relative to image dimensions may be incorrect”. Not descriptive to the actual error which was the quality.  Anyway if you don’t have an image when submitting the form it just prompts you to bring one to your interview.

I took photos specifically for American visa and asked a woman to send me a digital variant as well, so I basically have same photo in paper variant as well. I will try to scan it, maybe it will be better quality and higher resolution than the one she sent but if not I guess they'll just have to use my paper ones 😁 Thank you!

Yeah it’s definitely worth a shot just scanning the physical copy in to see. But I wouldn’t stress too much if it doesn’t work. You just won’t have a photo on your ds 160 confirmation page which you take to the interview but they request you to bring visa photos anyway so you should be good with what you have. Good luck!
