we got  approved noa2 dated the 11th december and case was fowarded to nvc. We then got a second noa 2 dated 22 January and found out due to an administrative error from USCIS the case was returned to USCIS and that when we got our second noa2 the case was on its way back to nvc . Still waiting for nvc to receive the petition back.

Finally got our case number today! (it took 28 days from NOA-2 date). What a great Valentine's gift :D Now I'm just keeping fingers crossed for it to be shipped to Moscow next week.

OOoohh!!!  You might make it for next week! Do you know if the number was assigned this morning?  I called late last night and they didn't have one for me yet.

dated 2/14!!!!

what the heck is going on here???? I already received my first approval letter!!! Does this mean they forwarded it to the NVC?

That is so frustrating.  Please keep us posted if you find out anything.

Each embassy is different. Some have the P3 posted on their website. Some require you to complete the DS-160 and return it before they will send you the P3 and others you have to return everything in the P3 before they will allow you to schedule the interview. I have an advanced copy of the P3 and I'll share it with you.

Many times when a file is sent back to USCIS this is what happens: When NVC receives the approved I-129f from USCIS, they check to ensure that it’s been stamped. NVC will occasionally receive a petition from USCIS and it does not have the appropriate approval stamp in the upper left-hand corner. They are also checking to make sure that the three criminal questions have been answered. He noted that there are times when the petitioner will forget to complete those questions and those questions are subsequently missed by the adjudicator.  In both of these instances the case will then be sent back to USCIS. If one of these things occur with a case file recently received from USCSI, NVC would know within the first week of receiving the case.

I think it was assigned either this morning either yesterday. They received it on Tuesday but didn't yet have the number then. I used to call them every 2-3 days instead of every day in order to minimize my possible frustration :D
