That gives me hope! Honestly, it isn't the waiting, I just wish I had something to do in the meantime. My fiancé talked to the people at the embassy today and they're going to see if someone can send us a copy of the requirements for the p3, so at least that will give me something to do while we wait!

The waiting without being able to do anything about it is the worst part. I always think I should be able to pick up the phone and solve any problem in five minutes)). There isn't much information on the forum about Iceland so you are kind of flying solo))  I wish you the best of luck...

Finally done...

Sigh. Called NVC again and they still haven't received our case. I know I'm just being impatient. I just have a hard time waiting. I refuse to call USCIS anymore because everyone I've talked to has given me different information and the people at the NVC are so nice. I was hoping we'd be in the February 19th batch, but it's starting to look like it'll be the beginning of March. Our NOA2 date is January 26th according to the paper, but January 28th according to the people on the phone at USCIS.

You have almost the same date as me. My NOA2 date is 1/25 but the new site says 1/28. Today marks the 17th day so I'm gonna wait for the afternoon after the mail usually arrives and call. If not, I'll try again Friday. I feel ungrateful for feeling this way but I feel we got lucky with NOA2 being so early for us only to make up that time on wait in NVC lol

Yeah apparently everyone in Iceland wants to stay there 😂 I definitely think it bodes well for us in terms of the requirements and interview. Since it's so uncommon, I don't think they'll be super nit-picky, not that we're planning on giving them a reason to nitpick.

Our timelines are really similar! Our NOA1 was the 20th (or 25th, depending on which place you look) of September. And I feel really lucky that it was approved so fast. But I'd like it to stay at that pace 😂

I'm hoping that, since immigration from Iceland isn't super common, my fiancé will be able to get an interview pretty quickly once they receive our case.

What time does the mail usually arrive there!?

Agreed! I may be wrong but I'm basing it on regular mail and here it usually arrives around 10-11am. But since they had bad weather yesterday maybe that's delayed too a bit today.

Good luck! I hope he gets his embassy interview in quickly! That would be awesome!

Oh , I'll try but it sucks that after all the wait now I have to do other things too. And the process in Caracas seemed much straightforward than in Bogota. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Do you know if something like this has happened before recently?

There has always been work arounds for strife in the world that affects the Embassy's missions. Those in Cuba have to go to Guyana and it wouldn't surprise me if EU countries have problems as the world is always revolving in chaos it seems. This is something you'll have to except and deal with. I see no other way unless of course you can claim that you are living currently in a country for more than 6 months which will allow you to use that Embassy.

Boris, did your case # get assigned the day the NVC received it or did you just get all the info from them on the same day?

It's hard to tell. I called them on January 30 and they told me they did not have it yet.  I called them back on Feb 4 and they told me that they received my case on January 31 and had assigned the case number.  I have heard of people being informed that NVC has their case but the # doesn't get assigned for a day or so later...
