I've got a question about the evidence we need to provide with the i134 form. Aside from the form and the bank balance statements that require an original signature, what other document should I provide with the original signature?

Thanks in advance!

With the i134 I don't think bank statements are even necessary. From what I remember on the instructions, it's just some form of proof that you're actually receiving the income you say you are. There are many ways to do it. Also, you have to have your most recent income tax forms attached to it.

I found it but can vary according to the embassy you interview is coming

Absolutely it would, but not likely as much as the volume of phone calls from applicants trying to figure out the status of applications.   A private entity with similar issues would look at some sort of system whereby applicants could access a system to determine the status, rather than throwing enormous manpower into a call center.

My argument is there are many ways to determine your status and phoning a call center is not one of them because calling can't speed up the process. Even interference from your Congress person can't move it. I've editorialized this many times but in the end PPL will do whatever they think is right for them and they're usually the most impatient people. Again JMHO.

It's not the end of the world. Most embassy ask for a few of the same documents. Here you go.

After you get your case number from NVC it would be a good idea if you were to connect with the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Colombia and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the P3 as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

https://co.usembassy.gov/visas/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages and here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Ppl doing their vaccinations in Columbia can do them with anyone not connected to the approved medical center where  your exam will take place saving you a lot of money. Be sure to get a receipt that states every single vaccination that you received. See list below that are required vaccinations. Then during your medical present the receipt for the vaccinations to the Doctor and ask that they be transposed to the DS-3025 and marked COMPLETE! Very important that they are marked complete. You will use this document once you are married and filing your AOS package.

Thank you so much! I already had a case number assigned, even an appointment for my interview but everything was cancelled. I contacted the embassy in Colombia because I heard that they could process my case  and they transferred it without me even asking for it. Even the Ceac site is already showing transfer in process.

Does it have anything to do with the problem in Venz and they were being proactive in moving your case so you did not loose anytime? There are reasons, you just haven't been able to articulate it to the person who made the decision to move it. JMHO

Provide the following and you will have no problems.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

So if I provide every document printed out and the i134 with the original signature I should be good, right?

Right. But the original signature is based on embassy to embassy. Some require the "wet" signature and other a copy is fine. I recommend that you don't leave this to chance and email the embassy and ask. It could save your petitioner $$$$ in mailing fees.

Perfect. I just sent Kris the i134, my tax return, and an LES (military paystub), but I guess I might go ahead and send my w2 too, just in case.

If you are the petitioner then you are required to submit the W2 plus all the other documents listed in my post - to be safe. They will not use any income derived from the beneficiary.

I don't but this link will lead you to a great thread that a lot of information is available. If you get a copy of the P3 if you could share a copy with me whereupon I can use it to help others who come behind you. Just PM here on VJ with the copy. Thanks.

All appointments were cancelled on Jan 24. I made my appointment on January 9 and my interview was on March 1. After 3 weeks of absolute no communication with the embassy, except for a generic email saying they were looking for an alternate processing post. They're not answering calls or emails at this point.

I emailed the Bogota immigrant visa unit today, just sent my name, didn't include any other info since I was afraid of affecting my case and asked them if it was possible to transfer and process my case despite not being a resident of citizen of Colombia.  They replied they were happy to receive my case and the transfer was already happening. In 2 hours the Ceac status changed to transfer in progress.

I was surprised because I didn't ask for the transfer just asked for info and they still transferred the case. Could it be they already had planned that?
