Small update here but at least with good news. I called again today at night and they have finally received my case although no case number assigned yet. The agent I spoke to was really nice and he told me it can take up to 8 weeks to even enter the case in their system. but my biggest fear of the packet being lost or something is gone at least. The agent also told me they are handling 4 million cases so that is why they can take so long.

NOA 2: january 12th

NVC received: february 5th

We called the NVC and received the news today ☺️

Wow congrats. We're 1 day ahead of you. Our noa2 was january 11. My fianćee never tried to call nvc to inquire so haven't had any update yet regarding our case. Been emailing at AskNVC but no response yet. I'm planning to call NVC 7am EST from Philippines using hangouts and hope we'll get our case number. Fingers crossed..😉

Called and got an update, they received our case and case number was assigned. What are the next steps now? Will I or my fiance abroad be receiving anymore mail correspondence? Should he look out for anything in the mail? He also has had an address change, can anything be done about that now or he won't be receiving anything in the mail so it doesn't matter for now?

Was the NOA2 mailed to him too?

What can I do in the meantime to help prepare for everything? I know gathering all the documents, but DS160 can't be done until the the consulate sends a package correct?

Thank you! Sorry for all the questions. Nervous and confused lol

What does it means when NVC status says Ready? What should we do?

It means your case (or at least an electronic copy of it) is at the embassy/consulate.

What you should do next is embassy/consulate-specific, though I'm sure someone here is familiar with Colombia.

@Greenbaum I've been a little anxious. Our NOA2 was January 11. My fianćee never called NVC to inquire about our case, so i'm planning to do the move. I just emailed at AskNVC to inquire about our case, but no response yet. Been seeing other cases who has been approved later than our case received their case number and already in transit to their respective consulates. Should I, the beneficiary call NVC to inquire about our case? Is it Ok?

I know you're asking Greenbaum but yes, you can call the NVC.  They will ask for the receipt number.

So they send P3 after it shows ready? Or before?
