I'm just going to share some information with everyone.  I just spoke to a USCIS Tier 2 agent to see when my approved petition was sent to the NVC and she informed me that my approved petition was sent to the NVC on 24 January.  I was approved on 9 January.  She said that a big box with all the approved petitions were sent to the NVC and when it arrives at the mailroom and depending on the work load of the NVC then they will start processing it.  Now why did it take 2 weeks for USCIS to mail it, I don't know and I didn't ask.  I was just pleased to know that it is intransit to the NVC.  My anxiety was at an all time high and I just needed some answers so that's why I called and requested to speak to a Tier 2 agent.  I know it won't speed up the process but I just needed to know.  So, Im hoping it arrives by next week and get processed so I can make the 19 February cutoff for it to be mailed to my Philippine Consulate.

Thanks for this Jay.   What time did you call and how long did you wait?    Phone number?

I called 800-375-5283.  It took me several tries to reach a live agent.  I was pushing the wrong prompts.  I was on hold for about 20 minutes then the agent said she didn't have access to the information I was seeking so I asked to speak to a Tier 2 agent and she transferred me, then I was on hold for about 20-30 minutes. I called at about 8:30 EST.

Thanks for the information provided, I'm hoping I am part of that box that was sent last week haha. I was planning on calling USCIS too, how did you get to talk to a tier 2 officer?

It wasn't easy.  I kept pushing the wrong prompts and my call would end and I would call back over and over then I got frustrated and just kept pressing 2, 2  then the # sign then the recording said "please wait for the next available customer service agent" lol

Just ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer. If they don't let you, hang up and call again. When someone picks up the phone say that you just called and were getting transferred to Tier 2 but the connection failed and you got hung up on :) They should connect you right away !

13 minutes into my first hold.  LOL.   Hey, was just thinking about your last post.    I had a Jan 18 approval according to the letter, and a Jan 22 approval according to the site.   Both prior to the Jan 24 mailing date you mentioned.    Yeah, it's a week later than I was hoping it was mailed, but let's see what they tell me.  Sometimes I think they may make stuff up just to get people off the phone.

To be fair the first agent and the Tier 2 agent both seemed genuine and truly wanted to assist me and answer my question and the Tier 2 agent even said "good luck to you and your fiancé".

Update...NOA2 01-14-19. Called NVC today. Took 4 times to get put into the wait que. The first three times it gave me the spiel and hung up))) So if that happens keep calling back. After an hour on hold talked to a polite gentleman who told me that they have not received my case))  Gave me the yada, yada about 6 weeks. I asked how they would inform me when the file does arrive. He said by email or address depending what they had in file but he ENCOURAGED me to call back periodically to get the information.  My first K-1 went through like a rocket in 2010. I don't remember dealing with USCIS and NVC at all except for mailing my petition in. This time it seems nothing is going to be easy))))

Called USCIS..........Not a bad wait.........maybe 20 min.   I spoke with the first tier guy.   OK, so here's the story from the guy I spoke with.   My application was approved on Jan 18 per the paper copy I rec'd.   It was mailed to me on Jan 22, which happens to be the date shown on the website.   He had to put me on hold to check the mailing status to NVC, so hopefully he actually did that.   Unfortunately, his response was that it has not been mailed to the NVC.    I asked why the I-797 notice says "We have sent the original visa petition to the NVC....." if it had not been already sent.   His response...........well, you can call the NVC to see if they rec'd it, in case my system is not working properly.    He also took my phone and email address and said "we will send you notice of when the application is sent".   I gave it to him then asked "are you adding my contact information to my general profile, or in some manner specifically designated for sending me a notification of when it was mailed to the NVC".   His reply......."general profile".....which to me translate to "maybe you'll get notified, but most likely no".    He then indicated I could check log on to my account on the USCIS website, and the date it was mailed to NVC would be noted there.   Well, I just checked........nothing there about mailing.   I have never seen that anyone could check the mailing date on their account, so I think at that point he was trying to give me hope to get me off the phone.    He could not provide any information on when it may be mailed to NVC....he said "soon".

I called and got my case number today.  I'm reading online I have to pay some fees before my our case is sent to the London embassy.  I'm so confused by that.  I know I have to fill out the affidavit of support, but what exactly are these fees the petionioner (Me) have to pay?

LOL.......absolutely, and I would expect nothing less.    The only new info.........the website date matched the mailing date to me, and maybe it was not mailed to NVC.   If my info is correct, then unfortunately you may be in the same boat that yours has not been sent by USCIS yet.   Again, the wait was not bad so I think I'll give them a hollar on Monday, rather than that awful wait on the NVC call center.   The lights just dimmed on NVC send to Embassy of Feb 5......still a flicker of light for Feb 19.

Likely the visa application fee, but that won't stop it from going to the Embassy.   You'll pay after you do the DS160......I understand petitioner or beneficiary can pay.
