Hmmm... here I found someone saying it is gross, but after deduction? Isn't gross after deductions a contradiction? Wouldn't that just be net? I've read through the i-134 instructions a few times - maybe I'm blind, but I don't see anything on there to clarify. Sometimes I feel like VisaJourney is my only help 😅. I'm really hoping I can put income before deductions, to spare the necessity of a co-sponsor.

because it's AGI, it's adjusted minus a few deductions. I'm not sure what the deductions are because I don't own my own business but it seems their response is accurate.

@Greenbaum I need some of your wisdom and your tips, I am trying to  figure out most of steps of this whole process. Now when I enter to USA with my fiancée visa and I want to get married I know both of us have to apply for a marriage certificate in Florida and I read this:

International Residents:

  • You may obtain your Florida Marriage License by our using our Florida Marriage License By Mail.
  • You may also obtain your Florida Marriage License at any clerk of court in the State of Florida.
  • Bride and Groom must have a valid photo passport.
  • If either party is from a foreign country and not a U.S. citizen, alien registration documentation, or other proof which contains an alien registration number is acceptable to obtain a marriage license.
  • If either party was previously married and divorced, the date of the divorce will be required. If the date of the divorce was within the thirty days prior to the new application for a marriage license, a certified copy of the recorded final order will be required.
  • There is no waiting period for international residents.
  • Most international counties require the bride and groom register the license at the local registrar office or government agency, please check with your embassy / consulate or appropriate office.

My questions is, I'll present my passport and what else? what is the alien registration number????

Thanks

I'm thinking that is the A number that is assigned as of NOA2 which should be in the passport along with the k1 Visa.

Has anyone else not been successful at calling NVC?

My fiancée has tried at least 4 times and wasn't able to go past the machine. She called around 7:15am every time.

Anything we're missing? Our NOA2 is 1/8 and no news whatsoever ever since.

I'm in the same boat.  My approval was 9 January.  Try this number 603-334-0888 .  You don't have to wait as long.  Just push #1 for English.

My question is do I need to get a SSC before the wedding in order to have the Social Security Number?

We are getting married in Texas.  A SSN is not required to get married in Texas.

They are not tax consultants at the embassy, so they will only look at line 22 of the 1040 for GROSS income.

I'm just going to share some information with everyone.  I just spoke to a USCIS Tier 2 agent to see when my approved petition was sent to the NVC and she informed me that my approved petition was sent to the NVC on 24 January.  I was approved on 9 January.  She said that a big box with all the approved petitions were sent to the NVC and when it arrives at the mailroom and depending on the work load of the NVC then they will start processing it.  Now why did it take 2 weeks for USCIS to mail it, I don't know and I didn't ask.  I was just pleased to know that it is intransit to the NVC.  My anxiety was at an all time high and I just needed some answers so that's why I called and requested to speak to a Tier 2 agent.  I know it won't speed up the process but I just needed to know.  So, Im hoping it arrives by next week and get processed so I can make the 19 February cutoff for it to be mailed to my Philippine Consulate.

Yeah, that's incredibly frustrating Jay.   22 days definitely puts you on the high side according to my numbers.  According to VJ numbers, you're right on track as I think they're average is 23 days.   I sure do hope you get this tomorrow........I know you'd have a great weekend if that's the case.   Gotta be Monday latest I'd think.  Good luck.
