I have noa2 of 01/04, it just got to the embassy on the 23rd, didn't make it on time for the previous days' shipment . Next shipment out of nvc is Feb 5th.

Mines still ‘At NVC’, hopefully it’ll get shipped out soon! Is there anywhere else I can find the shipping info or do you think it would be best to give them a call and find out?

I've got the NOA2, so pulled down some data on January K-1 NOA2 receipts relative to the NVC receipt.    One lucky couple is cruising along with an NOA2 of Jan 7 and it's already on the way to the embassy.

Great info.   So our NOA2 +14 days to arrive NVC = Feb 5.    Hopefully I can make that Feb 19 shipment, maybe to Embassy by March 1..... then it's just hoping for a good interview date.

Yes you will probably not make it for the 5th but who knows, if it arrives sooner and assigned the number swiftly than great it would leave the 5th. As for arriving at the embassy, it is shipped dhl and should arrive in two to three business days which would be Thursday Friday of the same week so you're looking at 22 latest Monday 25. Goodluck.

That would be super.   The average time based on Thai Embassy specific data  is 8 days from NVC to Bangkok.

The bigger concern is the 40 day average from Packet 3 submission to interview in Bangkok.   Hopefully that comes down now that we're past the holidays.

Ours is currently on its way from the NVC to the consulate. We still haven't received an email or hard copy of the NOA2. we only knew it was approved through checking the site.
USCIS said they can't send an email or do anything about it until its been 30-45 days after approval. Would this be a problem for the interview?

From my understanding you definitely need that NOA2 hardcopy for your AOS process

Yeah, the AOS we know about, we should have plenty of time to get it sorted before then. But for the K-1 interview, I've read that sometimes they ask for a copy of it and sometimes they don't. we'll try to call again in a few days. (it's currently been 30 days since approval)

You're at the home stretch ,even if 30 days, that's normal time, use this time to start getting all together and preparing.

Evidence book:  done.   Packet 3:   done....except for DS-160 and payment.

Waiting on NVC case number and twiddling our thumbs at the moment.      😏

It's highly unlikely that they will ask to see a copy of the NOA2 when they can look on their computer screen and see the details themselves. About the NOA2 it's not needed for a K1. Here is how do get one if you would like a copy.

There is a lot of contention over whether or not a NOA2 is required for an adjustment of status. We lost ours and have spent the past 2 weeks getting to the bottom of this. Here is the answer YOU DON'T NEED IT.

I called the USCIS and was told that an NOA2 IS ABSOLUTELY required to file. I was told on the phone that I needed to file an I-824 for a replacement at a cost of $405 dollars, and a processing time of 3-6 months. This was devastating news to us, and cast a shadow over our wedding day as we prepared to live the next 9 months on one income. I called back and was told the same thing by an immigration officer after demanding to be transferred. So I wrote a check and paid the $405 and filed. I figured if it take 6 months I better do it asap. I made an info pass appointment and scheduled a meeting with our congressman's secretary to discuss our case. The congressman's secretary told us that is was required but that she would chase it up and try and see if she could get our I-824 expedited but offered no promises. Then we went to our info pass appointment..

Surprise surprise, she told us exactly what I expected to hear: Of course you don't need your NOA2 to file because you have a K1 visa in your passport. More importantly that K1 visa has your receipt number, and your A number recorded in it. She showed us that our receipt number could be used to instantly pull up our file on their system which showed our I-129F status as approved. She printed out a copy of this for us to use in our AOS application. She told us she was sorry that we had been misinformed but could not stop the I-824 from going through; We would just have to eat the $405 fee.

For any of you out there that have lost your NOA2 (aka I-797): RELAX and DO NOT FILE AN I-824!! If you want reassurance make an infopass appointment and ask for a printed copy of your approval on their system. If you don't have a receipt number on your K1 visa they will give it to you if you provide your A number (on your K1 and I-94).

It happens to people all the time, it is not a big deal, and it should not hold up your application.

Hope this makes someone feel better.

Why call when shipments are every other week and the next one that yours will be on is Feb 5. If you want more information see the first page first post. Lots of information there that is answering most of your recent concerns.
