I wish I understood something... Our NOA2 hard copy date is 12/31. I have lodged an enquiry with AskNVC on Monday, 01/21, knowing they are closed and expecting response in a few days. Response did we get tonight, but my fiance by email, not me. OK, we are a couple, aren't we ;)?  We have received a nice NVC letterhead piece of information dated 01/22 containing our case # number and saying they will now forward our case to Kiev. Then checked with CEAC and got totally confused. CEAC says case created 01/15 (presumably, case # assigned), last updated 01/24 (that's when the embassy probably got it, your case is ready for interview when scheduled (??? that fast?), if you have already scheduled your interview, get your documents arranged and come as you've scheduled. It is my understanding we were a part of 01/22 shipping batch. Could the embassy then have gotten our case in no time and even got familiar with it? Anyway, I don't think that we will get anything else from Kiev as they have all step by step info on their website.

See!! I had a feeling your case was on the way to Kyiv. See it here, it just arrived, but not delivered yet. http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking.html?AWB=9901953714&brand=DHL

Get your DS-160 done and medical, and then you should be ready to schedule.

Basically it shows "Ready" because in addition to sending physical packet via DHL NVC also transmits case data electronically. That obviously get there first. Ours changed to ready today, it was showing "In transit" DHL should deliver physical case in a few hours at which point I believe "last touched" date will change to Jan 25. It can also change to administrative processing for a short while, before flipping to ready again.

Does anyone know if it possible to check appointment dates for Brazil? The website, www.usatraveldocs.com, only directs me to the U.S. consulate in Brazil's website.

I'd love to also know that.

Links to P3 and Embassy instructions, maybe your answer will be contained within this link. I have gathered a lot of information and provide links to other places here on VJ to answer your questions.

Thank you! I know that someone in this thread mentioned that Brazil requires the original, signed I-134 form. However, do what you want with this information....I did email ImmigrationRio@state.gov and they said that copied version is fine. I still plan to mail the original I-134 to my fiance in Brazil just in case.

Hey All,

I've read in the past that the approved cases only get sent to the NVC every two weeks, is that still the case? If so we got approved yesterday, would anyone know the schedule they post on?

Thanks!

Actually, I think it's the embassies that they get sent to every two weeks.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

A heads up to all the UK people - you can schedule your medical as soon as NVC gives you your case number.

When you call they just ask if you have an interview date already (don’t have to have it yet but this is just so they can try schedule the medical before it), case number, type of visa you applied for, name and DOB, email address and ask if you have your ACRO police cert sorted. The dates were fairly wide open. I picked 22nd Feb but they had even sooner!

Randomly thinking.... On the  I-129 forms I selected No for ever being denied a visa. The applicant was turned down twice for a visitor visa. Application was still approved, but just wondering if this maybe a red flag during the interview.

1. How do I update my email address with NVC Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address.

8. Tracking your case. As a K1, when checking your case online at CEAC.state.gov you must select "immigrant visa" as it is treated as such even though it is a "non-immigrant visa".

9. Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy. Go to www.dhl.com click Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, and on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to your Embassy then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A (This is the date you think it left NVC, just substitute the date and leave everything else as is)

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Philippines (Works for any country Just replace your country where the Embassy is located using the drop down box)

Many thanks Greenbaum, for the wisdom and outstanding help.   I just rec'd the NOA2, and went to your posting here to make sure I'm doing thing correctly.   Had a few questions.

I believe I saw the answer to this, but now cannot find it in the 24 pages on this post.   For 1. above, I was able to get my email address added on the NVC site, but I did not see anywhere to add the beneficiary email address.   I put her address in the text part, requesting "Please add the beneficiary email......xxxxxxx".   Is there another way I was supposed to add that??

For number 8 above, I'm assuming that we need the NVC case number, and cannot use the USCIS receipt number??

For number 9 above, will the NVC provide a DHL tracking number ?   If not, how do we determine the "Shipper Reference" number and how will I know if my application is included?

Finally, people have mentioned going to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/th/th-steps.asp   to find out what appointment schedules look like.   I know that for K1, the embassy schedules the appointment, but is there anyway to use this site to check in advance how busy the embassy interview schedule appears?    If not, is there any other significance to that site?
