So me and my fiance got our NOA2 Jan 8th. He is originally from Latvia but currently lives in the UK and has lived there for 6 months now. I am wondering which embassy they will send our case to the one in UK or the one in Riga Latvia? Or is that  something for us to decide? I figured once the NVC receives our case they would give us that information but just curious if anybody else is in a similar situation? I will be calling the NVC to get our case number probably next Tuesday I think that should be enough time for them to have it by then.

He will be interview their in the UK because that is where he lives. If after the file arrives in the UK and you want to move it to Latvia then you'll need to make a request to do so. (Let me know if that is your decision and I will give you the instructions).

Also, since he is (as of now) interview in the UK you may want to go and change your profile to reflect that. When I see your profile now I think he is interview in Latvia and my answers will be geared toward that embassy. All embassies have different requirements. Good luck.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Oh really? Wow well that changes everything. Ok I was under the impression that the beneficiary goes through the interview of the country where he is a resident. He just works in the UK but ok I will change our profile. He also has a different address than what we put down when we filed for our I129. I know it said to call the UCSIC if the address changes but since the case will now be sent to the NVC should I call them so they can change it or is it too late?

During the petition process USCIS doesn't care if the beneficiary moves, they send nothing to the beneficiary.   Only the petitioner's address matters. You can change the address on the DS-160 and at the embassy to inform them where to send the approved visa.

I see. Thank you. Also would there be any benefit to change the location to Latvia for the interview or would just make things only harder?

Also, how can some of you see available appointment dates? Don't you need NVC case number for that ??

Not sure about dates, but if you create a 'ustraveldoc' account, you will be able to see at least the closest available slot. IMO, no use to think about it now that the case hasn't yet made it to the embassy. Looks like Kiev is a very quiet place in terms of K1s

Well, that's up to you. The two embassies are similar in that they are easy to process a visa through. UK requires a few more items but nothing that sets you back a bunch of money. You would have to travel to L to do the medical and then return for the interview so you have expenses there and time. If it were me I stay with UK. JMHO.

I just made an account and when trying to fill out the form which asks where to send the visa to, it showed January 31st as the closest date :)

also, is it too early to input where I want the visa to be sent to ?

We haven't gotten any email notifications from NVC, only responses to inquiries. I've given them our email addresses using the Ask NVC form, but still no email notifications from them.

Luckily neither of us want to have a wedding ceremony, so we're free to get married at any time! We'll probably have a reception-type party with family and friends when his family is able to come over to visit us, which should be shortly after we get married ❤️

Looks like we are in the next batch. I was literally checking my email all day Tuesday. Just want to keep track of the case I don’t want another mis hap like what we dealt with from USCIS to NVC

How did you know that guys? Do we suppose to wait till tomorrow for updates? Did you call them to find out?

I checked my NVC status and it still shows at NVC. Little bit disappointed ☹️

There a couple ways use the NVC case status check web page and you can also call to ask. Looks like we are in the next shipment so almost there we are moving slowly but surely. Also check your email they are going to email us once the case gets forwarded to the consulate. So impatiently waiting now for February 5

Medical will be easy, I spoke to Medicom and they are willing to help. They are not booked at all and you may book soon or late as you wish, as soon as you have your case number. If you want to do medical and interview in one week, you can do it or they will keep your results as reasonably long as you wish.

I am also going to do medical exam in Medicom. It has good reviews from other beneficiaries

It is my understanding that the beneficiary must do it and overall, it should be beneficiary's account (the one who applies for the visa). It is up to them to input the delivery address. Once you provide them with I-134 you are done, it's their time to sweat now

Those shipments everyone is referring to are when NVC sends them to the Embassies. As for the appointment dates, if you go to www.ustraveldocs.com and login, or create an account if you don't have one. Once you choose your country it will show the next available appointment. I don't think you can see specific dates beyond the next available unless you've already paid your visa fee.

Does anyone know if it possible to check appointment dates for Brazil? The website, www.usatraveldocs.com, only directs me to the U.S. consulate in Brazil's website.

I wish I understood something... Our NOA2 hard copy date is 12/31. I have lodged an enquiry with AskNVC on Monday, 01/21, knowing they are closed and expecting response in a few days. Response did we get tonight, but my fiance by email, not me. OK, we are a couple, aren't we ;)?  We have received a nice NVC letterhead piece of information dated 01/22 containing our case # number and saying they will now forward our case to Kiev. Then checked with CEAC and got totally confused. CEAC says case created 01/15 (presumably, case # assigned), last updated 01/24 (that's when the embassy probably got it, your case is ready for interview when scheduled (??? that fast?), if you have already scheduled your interview, get your documents arranged and come as you've scheduled. It is my understanding we were a part of 01/22 shipping batch. Could the embassy then have gotten our case in no time and even got familiar with it? Anyway, I don't think that we will get anything else from Kiev as they have all step by step info on their website.
