I think our embassy schedules the interviews for us and as I was told they do it a week after they receive the required documents. But I thought we have to wait for them to send us packet 3 first but thanks for clarify in your other post.

I'm not up to date on how SA works as it concerns whether you book the interview or they do. The P3 that I shared with in another thread, I noticed is from 2015 so things may have changed. Once you get a copy of the P3 can you forward me a copy so that I can help others in the future with a more current copy of the P3. Much appreciated.

Can the beneficiary correct the name on his passport while the application is at the embassy? He would have a new passport number. Thank you!

Yes, but he must present both new and old and not having the passport at the embassy is going to set you back in wait time. Best to get it done before the interview.

For anyone else interviewing at the Dublin Embassy, I was at the Mater today and found out the embassy only interview once a month, the next date is April 2nd, there’s only 45 places. If we don’t make that cut off we won’t be interviewed until some point in May 😕

I'm sorry but I have never heard of the term "Mater". Can you define what that is. Thanks.

Hey guys our case reach the embassy on Sunday and our case changed to ready. It’s been 4 days now and still haven’t sent packet 3. Is this normal, should I contact them or just wait. Me and my fiancé already have packet 3 and are collecting documents

It's normal and if you would like to contact the embassy via email ryiadhIV@state.gov you may want to consider doing so.

So I have read in a few places that people are experiencing the interviewers request the most recent tax transcripts...is this going to be an issue? I have not filed my taxes yet and they won't be ready to file until the end of the month. So it won't be ready until past our interview date. I did sent my fiance my 2016, and 2017 year of transcripts and all of the other stuff that was requested. Does anyone know about this?

I seen someone get their visa held until this was ready and sent to the embassy!!

Most embassies are now asking for the IRS transcript. If you have not completed your 2018 taxes, which you have until April 15th to do so, then you submit 2017 and explain to the CO that 2018 hasn't been filed. I recently had read another VJ'r who didn't have 2018 taxes completed and he was given a 221(g) until he is able to complete his taxes and submit the transcript to the embassy. This, personally I think sucks and the CO doesn't know that it is not required until after April 15th. But, he who has the gold makes the rules. So, your mileage may vary.

what did the they ask in the interview?

They asked our names, about my divorce, how many kids I have, where I live, and where I work and my job title.

So today we got the interview appt........April 3.

The strange part, Packet 4 email has a checklist.........that checklist is completely different from the Packet 4 instruction checklist......which is far more complete.

The emailed Packet 4 checklist requests a copy of tax filing, but not the full affidavit of support.

Also, neither Packet 3 or Packet 4 instructions requested W-2s or schedules, but the Packet 4 email indicates "My petitioner’s recent income tax filing and the accompanying W-2s and schedule".    Since they have worded this "tax filing" instead of the new Packet 3 wording of "tax transcript", I'm going to figure that this is older wording and that the schedules and the W-2s, which are not included with a tax transcript, are unnecessary.

I guess I should not be surprised by the inconsistencies, and yet.............

Right!    The Thailand Packet 3 instructions have actually changed from when we started this process.  Last year, it gave you the option for providing the 1040 or the tax transcripts.  I always planned on the tax transcript to avoid having to decide about all the associated 1040 attachments, and turns out the tax transcript is far superior as it deletes your SSN and other details to help with identity theft protection.

The problem is, while Thailand updated Packet 3 instructions, they neglected updating all associated references on other documents....including the packet 4 instructions I referenced in my earlier post.

Here is what I advocate:

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

I would go with the irs transcript if it were me and for all the reasons you advised in your post. You can have both and with both you only need the first two pages of the 1040 because they use line #22 to determine your earnings.

Among the stuff I’m supposed to send my fiance for the interview (affidavit of support and tax transcripts), do I send the original NOA2 or just a copy of it?

A copy of it will be fine. Keep the original safe for AOS since you'll need it then.
