Been checking our case status on CEAC site.  It was "Ready" with a Case Last Updated date of March 7, and today the Case Last Updated date changed to March 13.

Does that mean anything?  Does it mean they shipped out the Packet 3 Letter?

Anytime your case is "updated" it means that someone is "touching" your record to do something with it. We don't know what that "something" is but they are having some activity with your case. This is a good thing and is NORMAL.

Usually you will not receive the P3 letter in the mail. You must do an online service request. They will respond typically in 2 -3 days with the instruction (P3). You will need to submit D-160 and pay the visa fee, then schedule the medical afterward. Technically, you will need the P3 to complete the medical exam, although some have gotten by with just the interview confirmation. I wouldn't risk it and would just request that they email it to you via: https://vn.usembassy...a-inquiry-form/  When using the form be sure to add in the comments section the last 4 digits of your SSN or they will email you back asking for it which causes further delays.

So the embassy cancelled our appointment today and all of March is grayed out now. This is the email they sent:

Dear applicant,
The consular section at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut would like to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, your appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut was canceled. You will be contacted by the U.S. consulate at the soonest to schedule a new appointment. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

When I log on to ustraveldocs, it shows April 2nd as the earliest available appt so I'm not worried in that regard, but do y'all think this cancellation is something we should worry about?

Did anything local happen in Lebanon that would have raised the security posture or something? It seems strange that they would cancel your appointment when it's still not for another week.

I thought of that, as well. I've been trying to look for something in the news online but found nothing out of their normal bickering with Israel and banning Boeing 737s from their airspace. I also went to their website and there's no notice of cancellations either like the one in Venezuela has. I want to lean to it being scheduling issues on their end, but there's that % of possibility that worries me it could be something else.

When we face the "unknown or the why" our minds tend to think of the unthinkable. I have never seen a case where an embassy changed the applicants interview date or canceled the interview date and they not get approved. I think this is just a hiccup and I would go about my daily life and not try to second guess what is going on with this event.

From my understanding you need to make sure you have only one profile showing all visa appts in your history. But check your ustraveldocs site and there should be a phone number to call. My fiance couldnt log in to his old profile from when he applied for his tourist Visa (had a different email), and they merged both of them and reset the password.

yes, it was similar to that. thanks Celie

she emailed then ended up calling and talked to someone that stated she had 2 accounts/profiles. she had both deleted. and started a new one.

printed the payment thing and went to the bank to pay it.

she says she needs to wait 1-2 days to print the g.s.s confirmation. then we will just wait for next tuesdays shipment. hopefully the embassy will have it by the 23rd or 25th. she will receive her police report maybe the 16th. so once the embassy has our application, she will send Packet 3 immediately.

oh travel visa's, giving us aneurysms

If she used her old account and changed the DS-160 number I am not well versed if that is going to stick or not. Others who ran into this problem with an old DS-160 were able to use these instructions below to have the "new" DS-160 linked to the old account allowing the person to continue without issue.

Some had just followed the link  https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome clicked on "Provide Feedback" on the menu on the left, chose "Online system errors" on the "reason" drop down menu, wrote about the discrepancy in my new DS-160 application number and the schedule confirmation they sent me in the "comments" box, and attached a photo of my DS-160 application confirmation. 10 minutes later I got an email with the a schedule confirmation that had the new DS-160 application number.

thanks Greenie

That's great news! I'm glad you were able to get that resolved. We had to go pay at the bank also and took just under 24 hours for us to be able to proceed.

When I log on to ustraveldocs, it shows April 2nd as the earliest available appt so I'm not worried in that regard, but do y'all think this cancellation is something we should worry about?

It's definitely very upsetting but I wouldn't worry just yet. They seemed to confirm that it's the issue on their side, so they'll fix it.

At this point, I am cultivating inner Buddha state, especially since there're still 2 months till our petitions run out of date. I was also told today that it's possible to extend and they add another 4 months to make sure you make it in case of delays (at least in Moscow). We have no dates available still, and I haven't even gotten access to the calendar yet :D So a lot of people are waiting since 5th of February.

You'll be fine, I'm sure! Try to stay positive even though I know it's hard when being so close to the end. There's nothing that can't be resolved.

So I have read in a few places that people are experiencing the interviewers request the most recent tax transcripts...is this going to be an issue? I have not filed my taxes yet and they won't be ready to file until the end of the month. So it won't be ready until past our interview date. I did sent my fiance my 2016, and 2017 year of transcripts and all of the other stuff that was requested. Does anyone know about this?

I seen someone get their visa held until this was ready and sent to the embassy!!

Hey guys our case reach the embassy on Sunday and our case changed to ready. It’s been 4 days now and still haven’t sent packet 3. Is this normal, should I contact them or just wait. Me and my fiancé already have packet 3 and are collecting documents

I'm definitely trying to. Thank you! ❤️ Upon reading it again, I saw the email is very standardized and not personal. All the emails we have received from them answering questions or to my friend updating her on her status have been personalized (Dear Ms. So and so etc) but this one just says Dear applicant and coming from a Do-Not-Reply email, so I'm thinking they may have sent it to other people that week too.

Let's hope they call us soon. :bonk: lol
