@MaryDave1992  WHOOO it made it!!!!

Does anyone know how long does it take once delivered for status to change to ready ? And can we go ahead and schedule the medical now ?

Mine changed to ready the day it was delivered so could change later today for you. You can schedule the medical but order your police certificate before you do because you need it for that. They aren’t bothered about the status being set to ready. I arranged mine before the case was even sent.

Ok! we did the ACRO about 2 weeks ago. It hasn't arrive to his home yet. Do we need to wait for it to actually arrive or can we go ahead and schedule knowing its been done?

totally had a blonde moment and forgot about that! are you finding that its way more expensive to book a one way compared to a return flight?

Round trip from US would be a superior option to one way from Bangkok........unfortunately most airlines I know of, cancel the return flight if you don't take the first flight.    Round trip from Thailand is more expensive than one way.   What to do?.....gotta bite the bullet I guess.

I think you can!! It should be there soon.  Dave called on Monday and the earliest appointment was for the 18th so I would go ahead and call asap!  But maybe @O-J can help answer?

A one way for me is almost double the price of a return. Chattanooga can be expensive anyway but such a difference blows my mind 😕

Chattanooga...........heading through your town on Monday.....Chicago to Florida.   Got to get the condo down there ready for receiving a very special new resident.

Visa issuance is not guaranteed. Therefore, we recommend that you do NOT make any travel plans, quit your job, or sell your properties, purchase airline tickets that are non-refundable or place deposits for wedding venue's until a consular officer has approved your visa. Be aware that mistakes on the printing of a visa does happen and it is wise to look the visa over before executing your next steps.

Yep, can do nothing more than plan at this point, and the only thing you can count on is that the deal today, will not be the same as the deal tomorrow.  Initially, we were going Qatar, then Cathay was the best option, then JAL, now ANA......will change a few more times before we finally get to actual booking.

And just to complicate it further, you the lowest priced RT from the US, is not always going to translate to the lowest one way from the destination.  I think my strategy will be to find the lowest air fare from there to US, and try to match it up with a RT fare from Chicago to net out the lowest price.   PITA.

I'm also hoping flight prices don't jump too much because he's gonna be booking his flight with only a few days until he's moving.

I've been flying international for many years, and it seems that the fare rules for domestic don't really apply to international.......ie, the drastic increase when booking within two weeks.   You're also at an advantage since you're likely booking before the high season.   Rates tend to increase mid-june.  Having said that, you may or may not find the same fares you're seeing now.  As mentioned, my planning has changed a number of times since we first started looking at fares.

i have learnt that lesson the hard way, total nightmare!! Prices right now, this could all change when we can actually book and see prices, is book a return and cancel said return when I get to Tennessee.

You can go ahead and schedule it but he needs to have it to bring with you to the medical. I’d say it will arrive soon but give them a call and pick a medical date that allows time for it to arrive

@O-J Do you happen to remember at what time your status changed? 🙈 I keep checking but now I'm aware that it's past working hours in London so does that mean we're not getting a status change today?

Our status on CEAC went to ready early yesterday morning. We still have not received an email. How long should it take to get packet 3 so that my fiancee can go do her medical?? She was wanting to go Monday morning.....
