Wow that's a crazy amount, I hope they understand

Yeah, me too honestly. This can blow our whole plan, but my budget was super calculated.

@celie&joseph i swear we’re just like K1 twins, we have our interview the 20th and was struggling with embassy requiring my original divorce decree as well 😂

YAHHHH! I love it hahah idk if I should send it or not. I think they might be okay without it though since they technically already have it in the original petition.

Here is what the Embassy states from their P3 letter. (Note - red text is for emphases only and the original P3 does not contain such highlights) These are notes directed to the beneficiary and not the petitioner. Notarizing something only protects you from additional demands. Since he is the petitioner these rules tend not to involve him so copies are fine. But, for you, you are required to follow the requirement in the P3 letter.

We can return most original documents if you also bring notarized photocopies to your interview. If you already included an English translation in the documents you submitted to USCIS as part of the petition process, you do not need to provide additional English translations or duplicate copies.

PASSPORT: Passports must have at least six (6) months of validity left from the date the visa is issued. Applicants who have traveled to the United States should also present all previous passports.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES: Each applicant must present an original or a notarized copy of his or her birth certificate. The date and place of birth, parents' names, and date the birth was registered must be included. We do not accept ‘short form ' birth certificates as they are not official extracts from government records. Applicants who present birth certificates issued more than two years after their birth (including corrected birth certificates) should be prepared to provide additional documentation of their birth, including baptismal certificates and/or the original birth certificate.

But @Greenbaum it says applicant.... I am the applicant, if I had a kid to take with me the kid would be also an applicant, my fiance is a petitioner, isn't it?

@Greenbaum do you have any type of idea how post offices work internationally? I mailed out my packet of stuff my fiancé needs last Wednesday the 27th. They said it left the Chicago and presumably the country on March 2nd but now still no sign of it or communication about where the package is. Usps said it could be sitting in Honduras waiting to be scanned but I’m starting to worry 😩

A lot of countries have less then stellar PO. The Philippines that I am familiar with is worthless. I only recommend valuable document that absolutly need to be there for the interview is sent by currier like DHL, FedEx etc. Not much you can do because it's pretty much out of USPS's hands and is not the responsibility of the receiving country's process.

The USC is the petitioner, the one attending the interview is the beneficiary for purposes of my comments. Yes you are the applicant for the purposed of the P3 letter.

Yes! The doctor told him he can have his results (granted that all comes out okay) in 3 days so that's a relief, but the major concern I guess is for the Embassy to be Ready for us. My friend had her interview on the 20th of February and her status still shows Application Received and it's been 3 weeks and no visa yet until today they emailed her that it's on it's way to the center for pick up but her status is still the same. That's worrying because it shows the CEAC is not reliable if the other side doesn't update it as they should.

As far as CEAC being reliable it is for the most part but remember stupid in stupid out. So if the embassy is not doing their part, then for you ceac is a joke. But for others their embassy's are diligent in updating the status. But, I know exactly how you feel.

It doesn't. If you are trans versing through another country just stay in the secured area and not leave through immigration. Once at your POE and say it is LAX and you are going to Cleveland then you pass through Immigration, then to your baggage claim, then customs and then you leave the secured area for a domestic flight. Get on that plane and travel to Cleveland but before deplaning freshen up and check that lipstick because you want that smile to show up across the concourse.

No okay, so his flight would land in Boston and then connect to Cleveland. But there's only 2 hours of a layover. So how does that work?

Yes that was what he said.... Also we had RFE because USCIS lost the first birth certificate copy, I hope everything is right

I used my US Passport in place of my birth cert for the i-129F.   Embassy should be fine with the information provided by the petitioner that they rec'd with the i-129f.   Our P3 requires no further identification from me.

@Greenbaum I have a question that requires your expertise. So my fiancé got his bloodwork and xrays yesterday. His medical exam is on the 25th. He'll need the age appropriate vaccines, which I've found to be 3 of them. We have the option to schedule his interview for the 28th. Is that too close to the medical exam? Will there be additional things he'll need to wait for after the medical? Or is the 28th okay?

If this counts as a stupid question, I'll throw a dime in the fund 😂

What happened to the 10 bux?    And GB may ask for his money, because with regard to this question, I think it's going to depend on the medical facility and how quickly they can get it done.  Better have him call the medical facility and find out if they can complete the work and provide the required documents in time for that interview date.
