Do they tell you anything over the phone when you call on an update of the inquiry? They are really taking so long with cases it's insane. My guess is USCIS started approving cases so early that it backlogged NVC even further. I hope you get yours soon!

Thanks

My fiance has been calling them, but they haven't told him very much at all. NVC gave him the email address to send the NOA2.

Thanks - that's good to know.

We have already emailed a scan of our NOA2, but (so far) no response, not even an automated reply.

Thanks for this. It's really helpful. Unfortunately their website says only to contact them after 60 days after normal processing times. I guess if we still have got nowhere in 50 days then we can contact them.

Update to Form I-134 Affidavit of Support

03/05/2019 12:00 AM EST

There is a new updated I-134 dated 02/13/19. Starting 05/06/19, we will only accept the 02/13/19 edition. Until then, you can use the 11/30/16 edition.

My interview will hopefully be in April and just made copies of mine so guess I'll stick with the one I have and save some bark off a tree :D. Thanks for the update.

Hello everybody!

I had my interview yesterday at the embassy in San José, Costa Rica.. The whole thing took a little less than an hour and a half and the actual interview with the consul didn't take more than 5 minutes.. Everything went well and at the end he said that everything was in order and that I would get my passport back with my visa and with the package for inmigration in 2-10 business days... I checked the CEAC status for my case today and it said it is in AP and I know that no one wants to hear those two words ever so I am a little concerned but at the same time I am wondering if this is actually a normal procedure they do the day after your interview and before they mail your passport back?

Yes this is normal, everyone shows this after interview. they are preparing your packet.

Thanks.

We have talked to both USCIS and NVC, but essentially the only people you can talk to have no power to help. There doesn't seem to be a way of getting things moving.

For comparison, it took the NVC 11 weeks after my NOA2 to send a case number.  Then it took another 10 days before I could even log into the CEAC system (which was the only avenue they gave us). They really have no concern for the hardships these delays cause people.

USCIS told me they hadn't sent my case either and later that day I got my case number from NVC.... In my experience, the call center at USCIS actually has no idea about the cases and when they're shipped out.... My personal advice would be to keep calling NVC.  If it's been 6 weeks, I think you can email them a scanned copy of your NOA2.

absolutely my experience as well.

We had discussed this expired document previously,  and I remember you mentioning there should be a grace period on the old version.  Many thanks for confirming the actual timing.

Oh I wish I had a dime for everytime I've seen this question asked. It's normal and it goes back and forth with dates changing. It's all normal.
