My NOA2 was jan 29. Just called and got my case # which they said was assigned Feb 27. So now all I do is wait for it to be sent to Montreal? And I'll probably be having mine shipped tomorrow since they assigned a case # on the 27?

You are right on the border between whether or not it goes tomorrow.   Say your prayers this evening.   🙏

I just want to say you have been incredibly helpful and understanding - we appreciate that. I have another question: Thank you. Just keep in mind that I answer over 50 to 100 hundred enquires a day and so I sometimes do not sugar coat my answers. There just isn't enough time if I am going to help all those seeking help. I hope you understand. :D Ok so to your points.

I have my case number. I understand that I can check my status on the CEAC website. Right now, it says "AT NVC". I also understand that once it says "ready", I can go ahead with the DS-160 (there is no time frame that has been mandated  to complete the DS-160 only that it is completed before the interview. So, if you want you can complete it now) and then schedule the interview (be aware that if you schedule your interview too soon and there is a delay in your medical or you are too early for the interview, your interview may be cancelled). My fiancée is Mexican (I know there is a regional forum, but I believe these steps are universal (Not really but go ahead)). Do I have to wait for any notification from the NVC before I proceed? (Yes and maybe NO. You may need the letter with your case number to present to your medical examination. There is nothing in the Mexico P3 letter that indicates that but usually the medical facility determines their requirement - This is an item that your regional forum can answer)  I mean, all they would tell me is to complete the DS-160 and perform the steps on the P3 (which I can already access online like anyone else), right? (not necessarily for reasons I have explained above) The thing is that if I didn't do any research throughout this process, I shouldn't technically know about the DS-160 yet. But if the status says "ready" do I need to wait for a notification since I already know I can proceed with the form/payment/scheduling/etc? (You can do whatever you think is right for you. I for one do not recommend this until such time that you go to your country's sub-forum and ask those who have completed their interview, they would be more knowledgeable then either you or I. I do not dig into such questions unless I have made a note in my Mexican page in OneNote because that has been an issue with many of the embassies along with the "wet signature" requirement on the I-134) Every embassy is different so it makes it hard for me to follow and note such inconsistency's and all the reason why I recommend that you contact others through your country forum.

Also - the tracking website says "Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment." I have received nothing from them...? And you will not because you are a breed onto itself. The K-1 is treated as a immigrant visa until such time just before approval your record will switch to non-immigrant. The instructions you see there is for a true immigrant case such as the CR-1 for married folks.

Wow! Thank you so much, that’s very valuable information and I really appreciate your response. I kind of feel bad for people who pay thousands for a lawyer not knowing there is a large online community with members such as yourself who are willing to help. Thank you again!

And this is just a general note for those who will be bringing Pinay/pinoy fiance's over to the states.

Make sure you add TFC and GMA to your directv,comcast/xfinity etc tv packages. At least that way, they can still watch "Showtime" and Vice Ganda...

a small percentage of you will get that

If you don't have the Filipino channels expect her to turn around and use the round trip ticket to return home. :jest:

Ok, it's already 7-30 am Tuesday for me. I hate the fact that I need to wait till my late evening when all the action starts happening but oh well. Let's hope for good news!

Have you been to S.F yet? there are quite a few Russians in the area.

There's no snow, it's just 10-20c everyday
