For Montreal we don't do any of that stuff.  There are no fees at this stage. Literally, submitting the DS-160 application and saving the confirmation page is all you need to do.  Then wait for the consulate to send you the P3 about 2-3 weeks after your petition arrives in Montreal.  Please go to the Canada forum to get accurate responses.  Embassies in other countries are entirely different from ours.

Thanks so much. I’m looking around in the Canada forum now. So, when do we pay the next fees? I feel like our case is hung up at NVC. NOA2 was Jan22 and it’s still at NVC

My NOA2 is the same date as yours and I'm still at the NVC as well!  When we get P3 from Montreal, we reply with the DS-160 confirmation, the scanned checklist they give you in the P3, and a scanned passport bio page.  They will respond with the P4 a few days later with a link to medical info and how to schedule your interview.  That's when we pay.  NVC only ships out the petitions to embassies every 2 weeks.  Currently, if you make this Tuesday's shipment to montreal (you have a good chance), expect a May interview.  If you have to wait until the March 19 shipment, your interview will likely be in June.

This helps SO much. I’ve been really chill the entire process but this week I’ve felt nearly panicky trying to follow the NVC instructions and having it not work.

I feel so much better. Thank you.

Hi guys,

I'm the US citizen, my fiancée is Mexican. I received my case number from the NVC last week. What can I do now? The woman on the phone said I will receive an email with instructions, but to my knowledge, that's just the packet that I can already find online. To make things a little more complicated - my fiancée will be leaving early next week for a trip with her family until late May (yes, a long one!). I know I can file my affidavit of support, gather my taxes etc, put together our bonafide relationship evidence. But I'll have to wait for her to return to Mexico so I can send all that via FedEx to her as wet signatures required. But can I do her DS-160 while she is gone? I know she will need to sign it, but I assume I can at least save it so it's ready for her. Does this to be completed in order for her to schedule the appointments? Basically, my question is - how much can I do without her (and when)? Is the DS-160 all I need her for? All of the other stuff I can do and FedEx it to her when she returns so she can bring it to the interview.

hopefully this can help with what you will need

i think you can do some of the filling out of the ds 160 and save it, or send to her and have her upload it

Grrr. I called the 0888# on my way home from work. I was able to talk to someone in 6 mins(that's a NEW state record).

just for them to tell me they still have not received my stuff. So still no nvc#. since 1/30. so frustrating.

We have the same NOA2 date and same for us: NO NVC# ... the waiting game is a killer I tell you! When you get an update on yours let me know... I was wondering if anyone had the same NOA2 date as us and I'm glad I found you :D

1. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

2. Read the first post from this thread you are in. The first post will give you a lot of information.

3.  P3 Letter which is everything you will need for the interview.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Juarez Mexico.

Get the Juarez K1 Embassy instructions at http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf (Spanish) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cBWgGJr4a5ay3b4OV28_dC3pgf63ZUr-/view?usp=sharing (English) as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use this website as a checklist. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

The I-134 goes, with your fiancé, to the interview.
