Here is the fail safe for conditions such that you suggest could happen. It's called a 221(g) given at the interview for missing documents. Normally given for those items that are listed on the embassy P3. If for some reason a different document is asked for, which rarely happens, then the CO can issue a 221(g) (it's an RFE only a different moniker) requesting the document(s) that is needed to complete the adjudication of your case. No harm just a slight delay in the issuance of the visa.

I ask you to find someone from your embassy that received a 221(g) for any document not listed on the P3 for that embassy. I'll be waiting. :D

Even if you're sarcastic, it's always reassuring 😂 thank you,  I'm glad it isn't a common occurrence. Honestly, in Iceland, I doubt they have a lot of K1 cases in general, so I'm sure I'd be hard pressed to find anyone lol.

Well, it's Wednesday. More than likely today will be the arrival cutoff for the March 5th shipment, so if you havent called lately, I'd call this evening and see if you're making the cut 😊

Oh and btw, there's already one person from February showing NVC received. Not sure if it's accurate, but if it is, theres small hope for even the first week of Febuary people slipping it.

I don't know why it took you so long to get your case number assigned. Usually people get it in a day. You definitely should have left out on the last shipment, but with having case number not assigned till the 21st you'll be leaving out on the 5th.

I'm on hold with the 0888 number right now. I hope they don't hang up on me or get mad because they say its for Non-Immigrant visa's only.

Let's hope I have the "lucky of the Irish" too today.

🍀

I would call that number each time, I think K-1 is both non-immigrant and immigrant so it's fine to call that number. When I would call around 11 or 4 pst wait time was like 5 or 10 minutes. When I called during my lunch break 2 pst, I would be on hold for 20-30 minutes. That's the longest I've waited.

no new NVC arrivals? man, this is killing me. did 90 percent of our immigration system take vacation or something??? we should be seeing five to ten people per day, but it seems most days we get one or two.  I feel like because of the huge delays people are just giving up hope and not even calling anymore...

@JMEngland - I called the NVC last night and was on hold for 40-50 minutes to be told that the “known issue” with not being able to log into the CEAC system was still not fixed and there is no estimated time until it will be fixed.  They “notified the supervisor” and that is all that can be done.  I just have to wait.  They have no clue of the hardships these unnecessary delays cause people.

If your having problems with the CEAC site timing out when looking up your case it's because the system is trying to cross reference the immigrant case number with the non immigrant AA number.  You select Non-Immigrant from the drop down menu and select the proper Embassy location. Then you enter the AA number from your DS-160 number and presto...a much quicker and consistent response. The output is the same but you no longer have the problem with the system timing out while doing the search...
