I got my case number !!!!!!! :D

I was soooo sad today because USCIS told me they hadn't even sent my case yet.... Guess everyone who said they don't know anything was right because I called NVC and they had the number ready for me!  What a roller coaster of emotions this process is.

I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!

I called NVC a little while ago, and my case has still not been received. I had called yesterday, too, and spoke with the same person, Nadine. She gave me the six weeks speech, but was quite pleasant - even though she was telling me something I did not want to hear! 😃

So in my attempt to figure out my case number, I sent two emails weekly. Today I got responses for both from inquiries but they were different.

The first said:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: ##### filed by (etc) on behalf of (etc).

You will be notified once this case is forwarded to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General.

The invoice I.D. number for visa petition ###### is: ######.

The beneficiary I.D. number for ELIAS, JOSEPH is #####.

The correct case number is listed below.

Pretty standard as all the old ones. But the second one said:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: ##### filed by (etc) on behalf of (etc).

The correct case number is listed below.

The National Visa Center is ready to accept fees, documents, and forms in support of this immigrant visa application. We will send detailed instructions to the petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record soon. Thank you for your patience; we look forward to working with you.

I know it doesn't matter until it arrives at the embassy anyway, but I wonder if the second is their standard response when a case is ready to be shipped out and they are done "processing".

Spouse visa response. Disregard for k1)

Finally done...

All I know... is we better be in the march 5 shipment. And pray they dont "overlook" our petitions. Seems like NVC is legit though. Lol🙄

I knowwwww but in those 5 minutes, they could ask for anything 😂

Here is the fail safe for conditions such that you suggest could happen. It's called a 221(g) given at the interview for missing documents. Normally given for those items that are listed on the embassy P3. If for some reason a different document is asked for, which rarely happens, then the CO can issue a 221(g) (it's an RFE only a different moniker) requesting the document(s) that is needed to complete the adjudication of your case. No harm just a slight delay in the issuance of the visa.

I ask you to find someone from your embassy that received a 221(g) for any document not listed on the P3 for that embassy. I'll be waiting. :D
