Hey thanks for the reply, there is no duplicate haha. I ended up going with your answers actually last week except for the noa1 one so thanks for clarifying that. It makes more sense to write that one down. Do you know of question 12 in part 1 needs to be answered if I specify that I obtained citizenship through naturalization? It's the one question asking the sponsor's age and for how long it's been in the US. I don't really know if it applies to me.

yeah, that NOA1 filing date is strange because NOA1 doesn't show a "filing date".  I had recd another correspondence about our application from the USCIS and that correspondence referenced a "Filing date" that matched the "Received Date" on the NOA1.

Part 1, section 12 needs to be answered if you are not a citizen based on birth in the US, or from American Samoa......so if citizen through naturalization, then I'd complete that question.   That's my interpretation of the heading in that section.

Two questions on the DS-160.

For the Philippines what is their National Identification Number, the number on their ID,  or is their one?

Also, when it asks for my organization name when I have no organization what is the correct answer? She had put “I don’t know”. Is that the only option

How would you answer it if in my case if resided in the US twice. From 04-06 and 2011 until present day. Should I write down the latter? Or would it be better to explain both in the additional part section? What do you think?

I didn't put National Identification Number. We don't have that here in the Philippines so just checked "does not apply". And yes, that is the only option if you do not have organization. Just submitted mine a couple of days ago.

If I were a betting man, I'd say you'd put the earlier of the dates.............however, since I'm not a betting man, and this issue is way to important to trust a rookie like me, I would suggest you call the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.   That way you know for sure.

So frustrating,

after calling 26 times today, i finally got to wait on hold for 23 mins to be told, again, that NVC has not received my case. NOA2 date of 1/30.

others that have received their nvc#'s for approval dates are fortunate.

congratulations for those who have made the next step.

When's my turn?

So I was finally able to get through to someone today at USCIS (around 4:30 EST) and they told me my case hadn't been sent out yet.  My NOA2 was January 24th and they confirmed that was my approval date.  The guy on the phone was remarking at how strange it was that it wasn't sent and said they should all be sent out within 10 days of the approval.  He said I would need to speak to a tier 2/ immigration officer but that none were around and to call back in two hours.  So, I called back at 6:30, was on hold for an hour, and just spoke with another woman.  I asked to be transferred to an immigration officer and she asked for my receipt number. I gave her all my information and she said she would connect me to an immigration officer.  Then, I got an automated message saying that they were too busy and that someone would call me back in approximately 200 minutes (!!!!!).

Long and frustrating story short, my actual question is: when does this call center close?  I'm guessing that there's no way I get a call back tonight, right?  Should I expect a call tomorrow or do I need to call back and start again?

Update: I did get a call back.  The person on the phone was extremely confusing and after a few attempts to try and clarify, we got disconnected.  :( Feeling pretty disappointed right now...

He was confusing because he said that they are sent out in batches and could take up to 60 days to be received by NVC.  So, I tried to clarify and said "but my case hasn't been sent yet, correct?" and he said well it can take up to 30 days for us to receive notice from the location where your case was processed?  So, I asked a follow-up question because I didn't really understand what he was saying... Then we got disconnected after that....

Should I try calling again tomorrow?  Was this guy just uninformed?  Or can someone explain what he's talking about?

Thanks guys and sorry for the rambling... This is making me just  a little crazy 😩

Its because they have no clue. your package gets sent from California, whereas the guy you talked to is in Texas. They are completely disconnected. They can't actually see what each other are doing unless someone in Cali specifically puts something into the computer. in order to get information from CSC they actually have to open a case requesting info from them. You're wasting your time calling USCIS. It's just one big jumbled mess dealing with them, because they truly don't know what's going on and the best you're going to get is guesses laid out as fact. Just call NVC everyday around 7pm eastern, you'll get an answer soon.

I wouldn’t worry... I bet it comes before the next shipment so it really doesn’t matter as long as you get it within the next week.

We were waiting forever for ours but it doesn’t matter until it gets shipped to the embassy. The DS-160 and Visa payment doesn’t take long which is all you need to do before it gets there.

Just call the 0888 number everyday after 11am central and I bet you will have a number this week. Best of luck!

So, our case has been transferred to the embassy (CEAC states "ready"), DS-160 is complete, and visa fees have been paid.  My beneficiary's document handler (she calls her a lawyer, but I don't think she really is), says she is unable to get us a date for our interview yet.  There's a bit lost in translation, I suspect, but what is the deal here?   This is for the embassy in Vietnam (HCMC).  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

@MaryDave1992 - re the time it takes to get your package received by the NVC.  After waiting so long for the USCIS, this part of the process is painfully slow.  In my case, it took 11 weeks from the time that the USCIS sent the NOA that the application was approved and being sent to the NVC to the time that the NVC received (and then processed) the application.  It took 4 weeks just for the NVC to receive it, then almost 7 weeks for them to process it.  After 11 weeks, I got the email with a case ID nd invoice number.  Now there is a problem with the CEAC system that will not allow me to log in and pay my fees/upload documents.  It is a frustrating, waiting game and no amount of calling seemed to make a difference for me.  Hope that you have better luck, but I would expect a few more weeks of delay.

28 days for me.   You're right there at precipice !    But hey, once you do get it, you'll get to move on to the frustration of whether your case will make the March 5 mailing or will you have to wait for the 19th.  😉

how is the 0888 number different from the 0700 number? easier to get a hold of somebody?

DPV, I mailed off my i-134 today, should get there march 5th, not sure if they mean march 5th there or march 5th here. but the lady did say, i would get a refund(like you mentioned before)if it does not make it in time.

any idea or estimate when the cut off date would be for making the nvc march 5th mailing date?
