I think this question has been answered before but does anyone know if i can use printed tax transcripts in place of the 1040? Our 1040 is taking forever because I’m waiting on recent taxes and really was hoping to send my fiancé his packet of things he’ll need this week.

Yes, you can use IRS transcripts. Jared sent me those since his 1040 have watermarks on top :)

My fianceé will be having their deployment on April till October this year. He was not allowed to tell anyone which country they will be at, means that he was not allowed to send me the documents I needed. In this case on that time frame of his deployment, most probably (hopefully!) We're about to received our NOA2 (January Filer) is it okay for him to send me all of the documents that the petitioner's need to send for the beneficiary's interview by March(before his deployment)? I'm worried about the date of his signature on some of the documents that needed to be sign.

if he has everything already like the affadavit of support, tax transcripts etc, i don't see why not, you may want to double check what you need for the Phillipines though, and you most likely wont get your NOA2 until May-July

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

Yea by the time you get NOA2, make it to NVC, get number assigned, make it to the Embassy, and then get an appointment, he'll almost already be back, if not already. the i134 needs to be fairly current, as in within a couple months. if he signed it now you risk them not accepting it.

Not directly from the embassy. We first downloaded it from the embassy's website. Last week I emailed them asking since we had an NVC case number and it was in transit if we could start gathering the required documents. They told me it was best to wait until they had the case at the embassy, but they also attached in that same email the k1/k3 packet (which is the same document you download from the embassy), and told me to start preparing for the interview.

You think we should still wait until they contact us?

I would do everything possible to prepare for the interview BUT I would not schedule the appointment till your file arrives and the embassy (use CEAC for this) has set your record to "ready". This way you avoid any problems.

Expediting at this point would probably just be detrimental. expediting everything would, maybe, get her here right before his deployment. that would put her in a new country with no family, no friends, no drivers license (meaning no way to get to the store and back), nothing. it's fairly common practice in the military for young wives to go back home during deployments, where they have a solid support system. In this situation, it's probably best she stays where she is until he gets back. They can have everything set up so she can schedule her interview a week or two after his redeployment date and she'll hit American soil not long after he does. She's going to be waiting while he's gone, no way around it, might as well wait with her family and friends.

Just my two cents as a 10 year active duty soldier.

In this case, though, his deployment starts right around the time they will receive the NOA2 if they are a January filer that means if he cant submit his paperwork to her while hes deployed, they will have to wait until after his deployment and extend the validity of their NOA2. Prior to this engagement, I was a military wife for 8 years so I can understand the sentiment behind being away from family and friends but this is where they have to decide what option is best for them. Every couple functions differently. I do feel that every option should be mentioned to them, though, for them to make an educated decision.

No, his NOA2 will come while he is deployed, around July. It's already about March, which means he leaves in a month in a half. This would mean his packet will arrive at the Embassy around September, roughly a month before he gets back, so everything would still be valid. This is on the shorter side of things. If they expedite, it would arrive in May, one month after he's been deployed, meaning everything will expire before he gets back and unless they can get extensions approved, theyd have to refile the I-129f. You can expedite the I-129f, but the backed up shipping times to NVC, 2 shipments a month to the Embassy, and far out interview dates at the Manilla embassy can't be avoided. There is almost zero chance even with an expedite that she can be here in the states before he leaves, and even if a miracle happened, it would be a matter of days. This would in no way leave enough time for him to get her properly settled (license, friends, ss card, etc) and get the AoS filed. It would completely screw them to do the expedite, possibly in the end, set them back the entire process.
