Additional information can be found here:

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

thank you.

another question,

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/nvc-k-1.html

by reading this, the k-1 visa operator assistance number is alao the uscis right? should my petitioner call them right away when the uscis got our file into their system? will they notify us when they got it?

and for waiting the mnl case# takes 2-6 weeks right? should we really call them each day for our mnl case #? wouldn’t they get annoyed? lol

sorry if i have too many questions, but i hope you can help me. thanks so much.

should my petitioner call them right away when the uscis got our file into their system? Your approved from USCIS so you will no longer have anything to do with them. You will now deal with NVC. Yes, wait about 10 business days before you start calling.

will they notify us when they got it? No they will not contact you when they have only when they assign the MNL# to your case. Then they will mail and eamil you a copy.

and for waiting the mnl case# takes 2-6 weeks right? Yes.

should we really call them each day for our mnl case #? With out the physical copy of the case number you can't do much to move your case along.

wouldn’t they get annoyed? lol No they are not annoyed.

sorry if i have too many questions, but i hope you can help me. thanks so much.

Copy of documents for the interview from the Petitioner can be copies. The possible exception is the I-134 where that is dependent on the embassy. Some require and others do not. I try and keep a log of which do and don't because this question is asked frequently but for Brazil I do not have any information. I suggest you ask someone in the Sub-forum for Brazil which is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/ or you can contact the embassy and ask. Once you get an answer I would like to know please. Thanks.

The beneficiary must now comply with original documents for the interview.

@Greenbaum Since you said you wanted to know...The Brazilian interview place wants all ORIGINAL documents. This is per people who have previously been interviewed and said this was their request. So in order to avoid any confusion I will be sending all original document. :)

Thanks for the reply. As we all know, this process is different for each embassy. So what is good for one may not for another.

Tip to all; be sure to follow the instructions from your Embassy. Don't assume that anyone here knows what is required at your embassy. It's recommended that you visit your sub-forum where others are there to help for you specific needs for your embassy.

The pdf link of interview preparation requirements in the doc that Greenbaum provided doesn't seem to be working. Here is a link to that section on the embassy's website: https://gy.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

It doesn't mention legalized birth certificates or police records. I'll email the embassy and ask them directly what they require for Cuban fiance applicants.

Yes, please and I'd love if you can tell me whenever you get the answers. Could you tell all the things you have ready for your interview? I have a Packet 3 link from someone else, have you received something else from Guyana's embassy? We still don't have our interview scheduled but I would like to have everything in order. Thanks so muchhhhhhh

Sure. I'd be glad to help. Our application just arrived at the NVC but as soon as it gets to the embassy and we here from them, I'll let you know and also post on the Consultar Review section for Cuba (even though it's in Guyana).

Detailed timeline update:

NOA1: Aug 08 (old) Aug 13 (New)

NOA2: Dec 27 (Notice date, received in USPS mail Dec 31, no updates to either website to this day)

No notification of any kind in either e-mail or postal mail despite updating AskNVC website.

Started calling to NVC Jan 10 (on 2 weeks mark)

Today finally was told  case arrived to NVC today

NVC Arrived: Jan 14

Called Jan 16 to NVC again, was told case was created on Jan 15. Was given case and invoice numbers.

NVC Case/Invoice: Jan 15 (E-mail with case number was received on Jan 19 by petitioner. Beneficiary didn't receive anything)

Minor update: Today, Saturday Jan 19 I got this e-mail from AskNVC (our personal info redacted):

image.png.834475430d6374cc8707f313f21c54aa.png

This doesn't tell me anything new, but this is first digital confirmation that number provided to me on the phone was correct, and they are in fact have it NVC etc.

This is because you emailed them as stated in NOA2, updated your email with them but didn't enquire or it was their action? In short, what do you do to have them email this response? Thanks!

I filled out that. Make sure to put WAC number in both there they to put it but also into the body of actual question. Also put e-mail address into the body of actual question in addition to where it says e-mail address. Notice this response is sent by some 3rd party contractor.

Geez, it looks like NVC is beneficiary friendly and I can file that myself as a Principal Applicant. You've made my day

For I-134 I am pretty sure you don't have to physically sent it. I am not planning to. Sign and scan should be fine.

Unfortunately, unless person who will be doing your interviews is lurking this thread, we do not have crystal balls as to what is necessary. :)

Here are my thoughts: For USCIS approval they were looking mostly at hard facts of the case. Have you met within last 2 years? Are you both free to marry? Etc.  That part now is over and done with.

The CO at the embassy now will be interviewing the applicant, and they are looking for something different. They are the ones truly looking if relationship is bona fide. They already know you've met at least once, that what got your 129 approved. Now they are talking to you face to face and want to know if relationship is true. How much and what type of prove they want to see? Nobody knows for sure, it varies too much from embassy to embassy. Some are harder, some are either, but most will agree they are not looking at one single thing but sum total of proof, your answers to questions about your partner, how well you know them and their family, body language, cultural norms etc. Not so much hard facts USCIS was dealing with but more subtle, personal aspects of your case. Keep that in mind and prepare accordingly. Specifically, I don't think CO will care for airplane tickets stubs but they might be more interested in pictures.

Good luck to all of us.

Okay, great thank you! I will mail over the photo book I made for him to use in the interview part. I appreciate all your advice :)
