Will presidents day being on the 18th have an effect on the mail out to embassies on the 19th?

This U.S. public holiday is observed on the Third Monday in February. ... Though President's Day is one of the 10 US legal federal holidays, it is not a public holiday in all states. So shipments will go out on the 20th if they followed the same procedure that took place for Xmas.

@Greenbaum do you know the average wait time for the Visa after approval if you are picking it up at 2GO in Manila? I'm curious because my fiance also has to do the CFO class and we are wondering if it's easier for her to take that while she waits for the visa.

We took the CFO Seminar before going to our interview. We received the receipt and the certificate. But we have to go back after we get the visa to receive the sticker. But its my understanding if you already have the certificate, you can walk-in to get the sticker. No appointment needed to get the sticker. If you've already passed your interview, just wait till you get your visa and do it all together. But if there's some time before your interview you can knock it out early if you'd like. We did it early to give her some experience talking to a consular and answering "visa/relationship" type questions and she did well and even was complimented by the consular. On the day she went, other people failed and wasn't given the certificate. Even some people that had already passed the Visa interview and had their visa already failed the CFO and was told to come back.

CFO acts sometimes like they are the Gestapo.

NOTE for others: The Gestapo (German pronunciation: [ɡeˈstaːpo, ɡəˈʃtaːpo] ( listen)), abbreviation of Geheime Staatspolizei (Secret State Police), was the official secret police of Nazi Germany and German-occupied Europe.

Hi everyone!

NOA2 January 7th

Still no case number... :( NVC say- not received... USCIS-  there is no way to check if/when our case was sent... so annoying!!

Is anyone here waiting so long for their case number? I've seen others were getting the case number after 2, 3 weeks. It's been already 5 weeks for us...

Each case is different and it is not unheard of that a case file takes sometimes 4-8 weeks.

Try a different browser. Chrome or Fire Fox seem to work best.

Say could you update your profile? Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Mine took 23 days.  If mine would've taken 23 business days it would've arrived at the NVC today.  Well it's currently Monday, 11 Feb, 3:36 am in the Philippines, lol

I used the WAC number as well.

AND: I have a DS-160 question too:

"Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?"

I have documentation to establish I have received vaccinations in accordance with Canadian law, do they fall under US law too?  I think so, but I have no idea.  Is this a "yes" or a "no"?

The US Embassy in Thailand has a document posted on their website defining which vaccinations are required for purposes of acquiring the visa.   You should find that same data from Canada (assume it's same as Thailand, but who knows).   Make sure that the applicants vaccines are compliant with the vaccines required.  If not, go get the vaccines in advance of the medical exam, and check Yes on DS-160.   When you go for the medical exam, they'll confirm that you're fine in the paperwork that you'll present during your interview.

I realize this is not much consolation, but after 6 weeks you can file a research request with USCIS as noted on the NOA2.   In the meantime, try calling USCIS a few more times.   The average is 23 days, so you're not much over, but my experience was that they gave me different answers when I called.   Most recently, the first person on the phone told me it's automatically sent the day of the approval.   That person transferred me to a Tier 2 representative, who told me it was sent on Feb 6.   (our NOA2 is Jan 18).   She also informed me that a letter was sent to me confirming this information.   A few days before that, a rep had provided me with an reference number which he said was a request to the California processing center to request a  status.    The calls may have had zero "real" value, but may be of some "psychological" value.

If you're talking about the averages reported here at VisaJourney ( https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical ), it's including weekends and holidays (part of why it's going down a little now that we're past the winter holidays, mostly).

However, note that the current average total time from NOA2 to embassy/consulate is step 3 + step 4 + step 5 (so 47 days as I write this).
