the suggestion of people trolling regionals unrelated to their SO's is sad, heck - many people in the MENA regional forum probably think I am trolling since my profile says Canada, we all have interesting points of view to offer. whatever forum you are in don't forget your diplomacy and apostrophes.

But but but...I'm a non Brit!

Yes, but you'd got a little bit of Brit in you, or at least, you probably have recently. ;)

I am deeply shocked and offended by such sexual innuendo and cannot believe we have plunged to such depths in this forum.

(heh heh, good one Dr_LHA! )

Getting back to topic, I love the UK forum and have no difficulty whatsoever with others participating in our discussions. I like to believe we are an equal opportunity forum. My only concern is to TimsDaisy's point about posting non-relevant info regarding consulate-specific questions.

Otherwise, I like to hear others weigh in on such scintillating topics, including, but not limited to, brain washing. :jest:

This post pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.

I don't have an issue with anyone posting here, wherever they or their partner/mother/dog may be from. I like this forum: I visit often and post rarely. Perhaps I have a gripe with people who have a feral urge to reply to every thread just to argue or contradict someone else, and I do get pissed off when people slag off something that I hold dear, but at the end of the day this is a place anyone can come along and voice their opinion, and who am I to say who can or can't come here? And for that matter, who are we to even know who here is a Brit/American/adult in 'real life'? Take as you find is a good motto to live by. If people on this board are annoying, I don't care where they're from. They're still annoying.

Just since it was mentioned, I knew nothing about any argument in the Russian Forum until it was mentioned here. But I haven't been to that forum or searched for that thread, I couldn't care less to read another gazillion pages of one-upmanship tyvm.

I'm glad you asked the original question, Lisa. I accidentally ended up in that other thread, also. (Because the title on the home page (without forum category reference) said something about wanting input from VJ old-timers so off I went to the rescue! lol) Anyway, it got me wondering if I would be welcome in other regional forums, and then I saw this thread.

Though it does not appear that I am part of a UK/US couple, in actuality I am. I am the British Subject and my husband is the USC. I just got here in a roundabout way.

So thank you for asking the question, Lisa. From the majority of the related responses it appears that I won't be ostracized for not having a British flag on my i.d. I actually thought as much but, after the attacks in the other forum, I certainly wondered.

Thank you!!

You should stop referring to yourself as a British Subject then. :)

You are obviously much younger than I. I apologize for offending you.

Perhaps, I'm 33 - I don't know how old you are. However I know that the term "British Subject" has not applied to natural born British Citizens since 1983. British Subjects these days are a fairly narrowly defined group of people who are British by right of being born in a former colony, but not being a Citizen. I'm not offended, it was a question. You might have geniunely been a British Subject, which is why I asked.

ancient thread has been locked.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
