Hello, After dating a couple of months, I got engaged and went ahead and legally married my girlfriend from South Africa. She then went back to plan the wedding and got cold feet a month before the wedding. So she called off the wedding and now I don't know how to approach the enulment stage...How will this affect her in the future? Any problems returning to the US if she goes through with the enulment?

Thank You...

Thank You for your help. Now, we are trying to work things out so we'll see what happens.

One more question. Does the enulment have any benefits for her? For me, I will be able to marry again in the US. But how does that change her status. She can obviously marry again in her country without it, But will she be able to enter back into the US?

The reason I'm asking is because one of the issues is with her mother. She has a very strong personality. Is there anything that my fiancee can tell her to scare her for her daughter's sake and let my fiancee marry me? Weird situation but I have to keep all options opened..

Thanks

You want an annulment and you are worried how it might affect her down the road but you want to scare her mother so your wife/soon-to-be-not-wife can marry you?

annulment = invalidation of a marriage/like it never happened

An annulment is not related to entering the US.

You and she are married, here and there. Without ending the marriage legally, she can't marry anyone anywhere.
