I know why it was rejected. Instead of it arriving on the scheduled 1/31/19 date, FedEx delivered it early on 1/30/19.

We'll resubmit the package with an updated date on our cover sheet and signed application

We've had a couple of people here on VJ recently having their I-751 package rejected due to submitting early.

Ahh I see. Your issue was getting a little too excited. Happens to the best of us.

Here are some updates about my case

1. So USCIS received my package on Jan 9 and sent me the text with the LIN***

2. Since then, I got nothing from them. No receipt, NOA or extension letter.

3. Made an Infopass appointment 2 weeks ago at the nearby USCIS location

4. Went for the Infopass, was able to get the I-551 stamp for 1 year. I'm not sure why 1 year but some people here have said that they got stamped for 18 months.

5. Able to renew my driver license

6. Now the waiting game

Anyone know if I got the extension letter mailed to me, would my GC be extended for 18 months or once I get the I-551 form, they will not send the extension letter anymore?

Does anyone know if you have to get your passport stamped if you got a receipt text but nothing else?

I mailed my wife's docs on January 19

Received an SRC receipt number via text on the January 25.

Case status says the receipt has been mailed along with instructions on the next step etc. (also from Jan 25)

My wife's GC expires on March 4.  I won't be able to do an E-request until Feb 24.

I'm thinking an E-request might not be a good option since the NOA probably won't arrive until after expiration.

When you got your I-551 stamp, did USCIS take away or let you keep your 2yr conditional GC?

You may still get the NOA1(extension) letter if you created a service request via phone or online. However, if you don't have your 2yr GC card, the NOA1 letter by itself is not proof of LPR status, so it cannot be used for travel/work authorization/DL renewal.

Since you have your I-551 stamp now, you are okay for the next 1 year.

I still have my 2yr GC. I created an e-request couple weeks ago before I went to the Infopass this morning. In the email, they briefly said that they received my application and it is being reviewed blah blah blah. If I don't hear back within 60 days (from the day I received the e-request I assume), I shall call the them.

Make an Infopass appointment and get your passport stamped just because you can't wait for them to send you stuff and you are running out of time.

Your quite lucky they let you keep the 2yr GC! Once you get your NOA1 letter, you will get the 18 month extension since you also have your 2yr GC

Oh is that so? I didn't know whether they would keep my GC once the stamp was generated. The officer who helped me this morning seems confused at some point, probably because he doesn't see similar cases like mine that often. Or maybe I'm just lucky that he just forgot to keep my GC lol. How are things going with you? Has they emailed you back for the e-request yet? Worst case scenario, make an Infopass appointment like mine in the 30-day time-frame to get your passport stamp to avoid headache and waiting.

Yeah, I think you got lucky. The officer must be new or unfamiliar with the process.

I am still waiting for the NOA1 letter, no response yet from the e-request (created 02/14). It seems like no one from Nebraska(LIN) is getting anything, I see a lot of Dec & Jan filers in this situation. However Feb 2019 filers are getting their letters very quickly from Nebraska.

My GC expires on April 6, so I am still hoping to get the extension letter before that. Otherwise, I'll get the stamp also.

Hi everyone!

30 days from the acceptance of my case passed. I haven't received my NOA nor biometrics appointment yet,  so I called them and was able to schedule an infopass for next Tuesday. Can I still file an e request even if they scheduled an appointment? Will they send me also a Noa receipt  or one substitues the other ? For how long the Stamp on the passport is valid or how much that stamp extends my status? I received a txt with a receipt number WAC.

Thank you!

If your 2yr GC is expiring soon, you should get the I-551 stamp at the Infopass appointment. Typically the stamp is valid for 1 year.

You can always file the e-request for the NOA1 letter, since it has been more than 30 days, irrespective of the Infopass appointment.

However, in some cases, USCIS will keep your 2yr GC if they give you the I-551 stamp. So if you get the NOA1(extension) letter after that, the letter by itself is not proof of LPR status, so it cannot be used for travel/work authorization/DL renewal. It is still good to have the letter as proof of filing.

Here is update to my case.

Filed e-request on Feb 11 for nondelivery of official NOA

Called USCIS on  Feb 19 for updates

Reply from e-request on Feb22 -Please allow 30 days from the date of this correspondence for the notice to be sent.

Frustrated!!!!!!

Called USCIS again Feb22 and ask about the status for which USCIS officer responded that official notice has been sent out to my mailing address on Feb 21.

If I don't get it by next week, I will keep on buzzing them!!!!!
