Thank you Cryssiekins.

I guess we are lucky/fortunate thus far in the process.

I wonder if a new job can be joined without the NOA? Given that biometric is already complete. 😕

When I got hired for my new job they sent an email with a link to documents that are acceptable to bring for them to e-verify. Click on the links that say List A/List B/List C :

The website says: A Form I-797 issued to a conditional resident may be an acceptable List C document in combination with his or her expired Form I-551.

I guess I might need the extension letter, although biometrics appointment is also an I-797.

You can also use a Driver License (List B) + Unrestricted Social Security Card (List C)

The biometrics notice is not a valid List C Document

Has anyone else NOT received a response from USCIS , I filed in Dallas and shows it was received Jan 4th, my money orders were cashed Jan 9th and I still haven’t received any Receipt or NOA.

My green card expires this month and I’m freaking out! Don’t know what I’m going to do.. I called today and they didn’t see my case on file 😞 so they did an e-request for information.

Hope I get a response soon

Thanks for your response. Hope the letter your waiting for is your wife's extension as well. So I am still wondering from this forum if our NOA letter is in fact the document needed for work and travel while we wait for other events leading up to obtaining the new GC.

I went home at lunch and checked the mail. The letter was not from USCIS.
But I am encouraged to see someone with an SRC  case number sent about the same time is seeing some progress.

I'm reposting this here from a separate thread I made, in case anyone is in the same boat as me:

Today I called USCIS (800-375-5283) and got through to a human who was actually very friendly and helpful. I had mailed my package on Jan 8th, and I had USPS tracking confirmation that it was accepted on Jan 10th, but it's Feb 6 now and no NOA in the mail. The person on the phone at USCIS confirmed that it was received on Jan 10th and told me that it was fully processed and in the system on Jan 14th. But then he said there was no record of a receipt (Notice of Action/Extension Letter) being sent, and no case/receipt number to give me.

He gave me a referral ID for my call, and he said he was putting a case in to resend the receipt, due to failure to send. He said it's even possible that it was put into the system, but that the process of the printers printing everything out and mailing it just didn't happen 😕

Neither he or my bank were able to confirm if they had cashed my cashier's check, but I have to assume that they would not have fully processed my case if they weren't paid to do it.  He said that now someone will be assigned to investigate my case as to why it was not sent, and that if I haven't heard back in 30 (THIRTY!?!) days that I should call again and use my reference ID. My green card expiry date is March 24th, so I'll probably be calling earlier than that.

Also it seems like he really appreciated that I was nice and calm and happy on the phone with him. So keep that in mind if you call USCIS.

If you don't get the extension letter in time, you can also use an unrestricted Social Security Card + Driver License to complete the I-9 form/e-verify requirements.

I'm glad I read your post as I was not aware of the unrestricted SS card. My GC expires on the 25th of April and I had a restriction on my card (authorized to work only with DHS approval). So the very next day after reading your post, I rushed to the SS office first thing in the morning and applied for an unrestricted card. The lady at the service window was very nice and helpful, I was in and out in under 30 mins. I applied on a Thursday and received my unrestricted SS card the following Tuesday. Thank you H-M!
