Hello everyone! My husband and I are about to file our i-751 as well this month. We are in the process of starting a business right now and while browsing online I did not find any examples of people submitting things like business licences/ permits, etc in both names with their application. I am debating whether it is a good idea and it shows that our finances are intermingled or is it a completely separate venture that is not really an evidence for anything?

Starting a business is always a financial risk, and showing them you’re taking that risk together, in my opinion, is great evidence.

Hello Everyone -

I had a quick questions - When i submit my IRS tax return transcripts, do i need to submit W2s too? I ask because i had multiple jobs and i am not able to find one of the W2s and it will be a pain to reach out to get it - That is why i decided to go with the Transcript route, but just wanted to make sure that would be enough? Anyone else submit just the transcripts??

try state tax return, my california transcript shows all W-2s in the year

Just as info:  I was looking at the November 2018 filers thread and there are still folks there that didn’t receive the receipt notice with an extension letter.

I really hope those are exceptions and that we all get our receipt notices within 30 days.

Joint ownership of a business would be a strong evidence of "showing joint ownership of assets and joint responsibility for liabilities". However, since you are in the process of starting this business, you may not have much history/transactions (revenue, business loans, business tax filings) to show when filing your I-751, other than the documents showing business registration/licenses/permits.

I would suggest including the business licenses/permit documents but also include other examples of financial co-mingling (Joint bank accounts/credit cards/mortgages/loans etc)

Hello everyone, today I received the letter for the prints. My package was received on December 24 and on December 31 I received a text message with a case number and that same day they cashed the check. I have not received the extension.

One question.

¿Has the same thing happened to someone? How long can the extension take to arrive?

You got a letter for biometrics from California?  Or is your service center in your profile out of date?  To my knowledge, no one has had biometrics in a very long time from CA

Hello everyone!!!

I just sent my package at Phoenix Lockbox, AZ, on the 17th of January and it should be delivered on the 21st. I would like to thank VJ for all the amazing help and details. Me and my husband did it by ourselves without the help of a lawyer (5k saved).  Does anyone know what it is the average waiting time for this process?

Good luck to all!

Processing times have really exploded over the last two years.  Right now, minimum time of one year. Closer to 18 months seems more typical.

Thank you so much for the info. Once it’s passed a year of waiting,  I can start applying for n-400, right?

According to Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, you need to be a Legal Permanent Resident for at least 3 years and  you have been married to and living with the same U.S. citizen spouse for the last 3 and your spouse hs been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years at the fime you filed your Form N-400.

Looking at your timeline, the approval date for your green card is 02/14/2017, so you need to wait until 02/14/2020 to file.
