My wife's case MSC1990xxxx (I-751 Removal of Conditions) has been pending since April 2019 (Waiting to schedule interview, no RFEs). Her 18 month extension letter expired Oct. 12, 2020 so she received an I-551 stamp in her passport that is valid until April 12, 2021. Is this enough to permit her to travel back to visit Argentina and be allowed entry to return to U.S. before April 12, 2021? Does she need any other forms to ensure she can come home to the U.S.?  We're very worried. We also received a reply to info request submitted AUGUST 11 and Received email OCTOBER 30 that said this: "Our records indicate that your Form I-751 and Form N-400 are currently pending and will be adjudicated at the same time."   Does this mean she'll have a combined interview?   I also reached out to State Senator and IL Senator ####### Durbin who have yet to get back to us with any info.  So frustrated by this wait with zero info.

Stamp, plus expired green card is what I traveled with and had no issues entering other countries or returning to the US. That is the purpose of the stamp. Nothing else is required.

Hey! Thanks for your reply. I found info directly from USCIS website confirming that the I-551 stamp is sufficient proof of residency to leave/return to US. When she got the stamp they actually took her expired green card, which I assumed would happen. But I’m confident the stamp is enough. Just wish we could get info on interviews!

Just got an email that my N400 interview has been scheduled but I don't know the date yet? Online account does not show interview notice yet? Still no change in I751 case status yet!

may I ask that how you knew that your interview was a combo? My interview letter only mentioned abt N-400 so I wondered if mine is combo?

Thanks

My interview was not a combo. I got separate mails for my I-751 and N-400 interview. As other peoples experiences if you get N400 interview notice only while pending I-751 they do a combo interview or re-schedule your N-400 until your I-751 finalized. Or they say it will be a combo interview in the mail. So if you are scheduled for N-400 only while I-751 pending bring your spouse with you so they can adjudicate I-751 too.

My letter wasn’t visible until a day later.  It will come by mail too.

I HOPE your i751 will be scheduled at the same time.  I didn’t get a case update for that on the website, just a letter, which came 3-4 days after the n400 letter.

Still no news regarding my I751 case but N400 interview is scheduled on Jan 04,2020. Do I need to bring my wife for interview as well, she currently resides in Texas?

Also one more thing what documents do I need to bring? Here is the list of documents that I intend to bring:

Marriage Certificate

Joint Tax returns of 2016,20177,2018,2019

Birth Certificate of both of our kids

I kinda lost documentation of our car insurance from 2017 to 2019 but I do have last 18 months of our car insurance.would that be enough?

Quarterly bank statement of our credit and checking account 2019 and 2020. Would that be enough bank statement?

Letters from our common friends and family showing legit marriage relationship

Letter from employer showing my wife and our kids as beneficiary for my 401k, life insurance

My wife and kids moved toTX earlier this year for her job so she got her medical insurance through her job so I had to remove her from my medical insurance  . Do you think that would be red flag considering we live apart from each other for about 6 months due to my job situation?

Hello. Congratulations!!!
Yes, you MUST bring your wife on your Interview ( in case of Combo interview).

And yes, to live separately with your spouse due to job is fine for normal life, but is not fine for USCIS officer. So just be prepared to answer additional questions regarding this issue.
Good luck :)

My wife took her naturalization test yesterday morning...December 8. She passed her test and was given the option to participate in the oath ceremony later in the afternoon. She is officially an American citizen! It was exciting day even though no family members were allowed to witness the oath ceremony. We sincerely thank all forum members for their advice and support during this journey! We wish all those still waiting the best of luck!

Respectfully,

Randy and Wuí

Not physically living together is something you'll need to overcome. They are a bit ridiculous about this. Def bring her for interview. When I had my interview in Albany they did call about 2 days before interview telling me to bring my spouse... Though that was already my plan. Evidence seems okay for people who physically live together. Do either of you travel back and forth.. what's the arrangement, how often do you see each other etc.(don't tell me, just figure out how you'll explain and more importantly what evidence you'll show that though you're not physically together you're still very much married)
