so I went to USCIS Albany NY field office today to get a stamp on passport while doing it CO took my expired green card and put a stamp in my passport. Is that normal?I thought they will just stamped my passport and I can keep my expired greencard along with 18 month extension letter. Did it happen to someone else too?

Indeed that is normal. My wife's extension expires in a few days but we're going to hold out a bit longer on the stamp route just so we can hold onto the green cards for that exact reason that they take them away.

The CA service center processing timeline looks like got reduced a bit from last time I checked... so we're only about 2 month's out before we can submit the out of processing request.

My case status was We are ready to schedule your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, for an interview. I received an update on my case. Now it says we transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxxxxx, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case.  We were hoping to get an interview date but we got another transfer notice. Now waiting for the paper notice to see the reason of transferring.

After several months in touch with Congressman regarding my I751 case, finally I was able to get some information today and apparently NBC are waiting on Albany,NY field office to schedule my N400 interview and as soon as they schedule my N400 interview, NBC will then send file to local field office. Well this is totally in contradiction to what Albany,NY field office personal told me earlier in June. According to her, they cant schedule my N400 until NBC send them a I751 file so not sure who to believe? Atleast now I know whats going on? Look like its gonna be a combo interview and probably will take several more months to be done with immigration process!

Hi Everone. We are Jan 2019 filer and got I751 RFEs in Apr 2020. Mailed in evidence package in May 12 , 2020 to LA field office. The MSC case status still showing the “ we send you a notice to request evidence” after two and half month. I do not even know if they received it during this Covid-19. Submitted the inquiry online but never get reply. Anyone in the same shoes like me? Should I mail the package again since we still have a month so before reach the Covid-19 deadline. Thanks a lot

Hello everyone. Wanted to know from folks in New England/East Coast that have case status stuck in "ready to be scheduled for an interview." Our case has been stuck in "ready to be scheduled for an interview" since March 11th - then covid shut everything down literally a day later (what a luck)!

Does anyone know if field offices in New England are still closed? We live in Boston.

As far as I know, they are not issuing another extension letter. If you want some kind of proof you have to go the stamp route by setting an infopass appointment.

I'm amazed that some of people here have been able to get another extension/stamp. I just called my field office (Dallas, TX) and they were firm about the criteria I have to meet to get a stamp. Then I spent 40 min waiting on an operator to find out what's going on in my Potomac Service Center that my Lifting conditions case has been taking over 19 months now, and then the call just ended. I have no patience for USCIS anymore.

It appears that when an N-400 is filed with a pending I-751, it ends up being a combo interview. I guess I should say the I-751 isn't approved until the N-400 interview. My wife said the I-751 was not mentioned in her interview, but it showed approved online the next day.

According to the link below,  the Dallas field office received 8,172 new N-400 cases from Jan. 1 - March 31, 2020. During the same time, they processed 6,991 cases. At the end of March 2020, they had 27,672 cases pending. This is about the time covid shut down the offices. Assuming more cases were added while field offices were closed, Dallas had about 30,000 cases pending when they re-opened. That looks like about a 4 1/2 month backlog.

I understand the backlog, but I would think they would be more open to people wanting to get a stamp. If the two interviews are indeed combined, that it won't happen until late next year, which means 2,5 or more years on my Lifting conditions case. I know that COVID-19 screwed up a lot of stuff, but even before then it was taking a while. I know I can do nothing, but I'm still frustrated because I am itching to travel and see my family as soon as possible, and I'm just powerless...

Calling to local field office for stamp is useless .I would strongly recommend you to speak with Tier 2 officer, only then you would be able to get an appointment for stamp
