You can use a co sponsor, but you still need to provide an I-134

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.
  • Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS
  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years
  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.
  • Photo copies of past 6 months pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.

NO you do not need to show bank statements, they are only needed when income is below 125% poverty line to show assets to make up a short fall.

If you list the asset things the consular officer then just has more to aske questions about and you will have to provide more financial evidence. I have bank accounts, 401k and other things but did not list them on the I-134.

The OP doesn't need a co sponsor with 5 times the required earnings.

I think the above recommendations are overkill. I would use either tax transcripts or tax returns including W2's, not both. A single recent pay stub showing year to date earnings is sufficient. An employer letter is a nice addition but not required for those with obvious stable jobs. I mean, if you have the same employer on all three tax returns and the current pay stub, an employer letter doesn't provide any additional information.

If you meet the requirements using income alone, I would actually leave blank (sacrilege, I know) all form blanks referring to assets. Neither N/A or None seem to be appropriate and your bases are covered.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

YuAndDan,

Why in the world do you suggest a "co sponsor"?

rajc,

You can reveal what ever financial resources you wish to identify, and withhold whatever financial resources you wish to withhold. The decision on public charge will be based on whatever financial resources you do reveal and document.

My husband did not include all his bank accounts, statement of assets/properties, certificate of stocks, etc... when he filed my petition. Just provide the basic and required documents that is being ask from you. If you think that your salary is more than enough the financial cap, then there's no need to include that.

Goodluck.

All the best,

According to the I-134 directions, under supporting evidence:

A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial

institutions where you have deposits, identifying the

following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3. Present balance.

I went to my credit union and had them print out this information on their business stationary. It took about 30 minutes.

It doesn't say anything about bank statements.

Hello, dear friends:

Our petition has just been approved! We are so happy.

Please, help. I know my fiancée (the petitioner) has sent the Affidavit of Support to the California Service Center,

but will I need an original signed document for my interview or a copy is enough?

This doubt has been killing us both... Please, any help is welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

I recently ended my job of 6 years and will be starting my new job in about a week. I won't be needing to send in my affidavit of support for a number of months. I was thinking of including a few past pay stubs from my old job along with a letter from my supervisor stating my old salary. I would also include a few pay stubs from my new job along with a letter from them. Would you recommend this or do you think that would be overkill? I'll also include tax transcripts as well.
