Doubt there is anyway to expedite unless there is a medical emergency.

Start by familiarizing yourself with the process here:

What type of visa are you filing for? Your profile shows N/A, yet you have a timeline for I-130 which is a married person, but you say single mom?

Not much can expedite a petition, I have seen them move things along quicker for a soldier about to be deployed over seas.

I will assume K-1, just look at K-1 guide and FAQ for the next steps.

Hi there,

I am also waiting to bring my Mum out here and received an email which said

"Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On May 3, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service."

I have not received anything via snail mail yet. I would be interested to keep in touch and see how things go for you.

I have no idea what will be the next step and I am sure you are in the same position. Do they ask for anything in you Approval notice?

What happens now?

Where is your Mom coming from? My Mum lives in England.

The process goes a lot faster if your mother can enter US on a guest visa. Once she is here, there is no wating time. Even if the visa expires, all that matters is that she entered the US legally. You just mail all the paperwork at the same time and wait. I did that and my mom got a green card not even 4 months later. By the way, my mom's guest visa expired almost a year ago and it did not make any difference or give us any problems.
