With a 7 month old baby and a day before our wedding anniversary my husband has decided he no longer wants to be with me. Is there anything I need to do to end the process of getting him a visa? Case was received by NVC on 12/7 and it has not been given a case number yet as far as I know. Also, if anyone has an idea of how an international divorce works, advice would be appreciated.

So your case is CR1? As the petitioner, you can always withdraw the I-130. Without the I-130 as the basic for the case, there is no case. What I would to is to write to USCIS to withdraw your I-130 petition, and also call/write the NVC to inform them that as the petitioner, you're withdrawing the I-130 petition.

I'm sorry to hear this.  You can notify USCIS and NVC that you want to withdraw........there is no way the case can go forward if you are still waiting on a case number from NVC....or you can wait if you think the marriage is salvageable. .......a case can sit at NVC for a year before expiration.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

For any divorce, you need a divorce attorney, so I would suggest that you find one based in the US state of your residence, who also has divorce experience with international issues, specifically DR experience since it looks like that's where you got married.
