221(g)/Administrative Processing 2018 UK Master Thread

Recommended Posts

I didn't know if this was allowed or recommended, as I have noticed that a lot of cases have gone into 221(g)/Administrative Processing in the last few months. Rather than everyone freaking out all over everyone else's thread, I wanted to try and consolidate something  into one main post, and keep this first post updated with a table of what we're experiencing. I can't promise that I'll always be around to do this, but I will try to update this very regularly while my case is still pending, and then periodically afterwards (unless someone eventually takes it over). Please feel free to add all status reports and updates here, and I will add them to the main thread. Feel free to use this thread to ask questions and give advice, I will be checking regularly, but if you're providing new information , please tag the top of the thread in red with ***NEW INFO PLEASE ADD***

I meant this more as a resource for people who have received a 221g for Additional administrative processing, or have been in Administrative processing longer than the 90% and are getting nervous. It helps to keep us all together, and supportive, and may assist new people searching for this info. On the other hand..it appears I cannot edit the first post after x amount of time...so much for master list 😕 I wonder if that can be overridden.

My fiancé is not from the UK, but he also received the 221g three months ago - we're still waiting in AP. We have been following a similar spread sheet in a thread from his area. It definitely helps to be able to keep updated on others in the same boat as us. Good luck and I hope your fiancé's visa is issued soon!

That's good news. It means that your non-immigrant (K1) visa case has been created, and they will issue it under the updated case. I think they might be working the backlog, as @DeclanW also just received a status update.

Yup. Now it's non immigrant AP.

Exactly the same situation, this means it's finally getting done

Well congrats to you two on the case movement. Guess our case is the only one stuck in true AP and without a 221. No update since Nov 19th, not even when sending an email to the embassy.

Oh my god, a whole year? Did you contact them at all since? What was the No Live Trace in regards to? Did they take your passport at the time of the interview? What did they tell you then? Any other issues that could've cropped up?

-Visa Overstays

-Previous marraiges

-Kids?

-Proof of Relationship?

Is your AP still in Immigrant visa or did it switch to NonImmigrant?

The other poster was/is waiting for an employment based visa rather than a marriage or fiance based visa so they're very different things happening and different things to prove at interview.

That is true but I have to say that I screwed up the copy and paste. I meant that to be No Trace so not nearly as bad as it sounds.

Short version, interview was a whole six minutes. Most of my file with the stuff about what I plan to do after I get there was summarily ignored. He tried to catch me out on certain dates and failed. They wanted to keep hold of my passport but I had to travel to/from Switzerland a couple times so he gave it back. My 221(g) form stated awaiting return of passport but I was never contacted to give it back. I assume from the dates I saw that it went from consular officer to supervisor and they just sent it straight back to USCIS. Currently approaching a congressman to try and "shake the tree" as I'm well over 180 days now.

No visa/esta overstays.

No marriages, no kids etc.

I stayed firmly within immigrant visa territory.
