first you must understand what a wall is.  let's take the military definition here, from wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obstacles_to_troop_movement

yes, a wall can be dug under, etc etc.   that is time and labor intensive

any barrier will channel movement of those wishing to cross to another area where manpower can be concentrated to capture them.

additionally, ground penetrating radar can detect tunnels and some sensors can detect digging.

i believe it will cut down considerably on the flow of drugs and illegal border crossings into our country.  furthermore, the real concern

to me is that it is not just central/south americans being caught - there are nationals of countries that have used terrorism against us

in the past and will use such against us in the future too.

I've seen all the conditions of the current system. There are basically three fence / wall styles - vertical steel that is see through, metal panels repurposed from the vietnam war, and lower vehicular barricades. The only wall work I see needing to be done is replacing the vietnam metals with something more open. They hide movement on the mexican side. I also think its important that future barricades allow native wildlife to migrate properly.

Very true.  Equally important is that private-property rights are not trodden upon -- Texas property-owners have already been thoroughly hosed with no recourse.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

THE WALL.  So how much money is 5 billion dollars?  Well, if you take 5 billion dollars and divide by the United States population of about 325 million it comes to about 15.38 each.  To the ignoramuses claiming that a wall is "ineffective".  Then why do people that own houses or property build fences and walls surrounding them?  Why have locks on the doors?  In fact, why have doors at all?  I would suggest these people who claim a wall is ineffective they should demolish the walls around their property and remove the doors from their homes.  Just allow anyone to come and go as they please.  Let's see how that goes.  And by the way.  Where do I send my check for $46.14 (family of three) for my share of the wall?  I would be more than happy to pay.  My wife came from the Philippines after months of documentation and fees, etc...  Why should we allow people to just walk in?  Let's build the wall.

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)

Remember when quoting the bible:  Where it was written, when it was written, and why it was written.  I don't believe there were terrorists with IED's in Egypt.

I did reflect and I did remember.  My selection was purposeful.

That foreigner IS residing among you, not trying to kick in the door, also wern't the Jews in Egypt held in bondage? Keeping illegals out is much more humane than servitude I believe.

That is one translation, there are quite a few more

Trump now say he can declare a National Emergency and Build the Wall

This guy thinks outside the box, this is what happens when you elect a successful business instead of a career politician to Office of the Presidency
