Recently got RFE'd, am putting together all the stuff, amongst which are bank statements from myself and my wife. Should I blank out the account numbers, or not? I am tempted not to bother, as the USCIS can find out any info they want regardless.............

Thank ye!

I would leave the account numbers alone. ;)

I blanked out everything but the last four digits - also on credit cards and on bills and credit card statements. That way you can prove that the bill was for that particular credit card or bank account - provided that you send bills along with the statements (which I did A LOT with my RFE - did I mention that I sent A LOT? :D ). I wouldn't risk to leave the whole numbers. I am paranoid anyway and would think: What if the package gets lost or in the wrong hands? Credit card numbers and the like in wrong hands can wreck great damage, but that is just my way of overly protective thinking and acting :)

Good luck and a speedy approval after RFE!

I didn't bother omitting any info from the bank statement. What would be on there they don't know about already anyway? The check I've paid the fee with contained the acct. and routing number. The transactions on it are proof of our life together. If you have problems trusting the USCIS, then you should be more worried about the fact that they are in possession of your SSN. But that's just my two cents. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with, but make sure that your statement is still recognizable as such.

I am sending 18 months of my bank statements, with a minimum of three utility bills for each month, normally four, along with 18 months of my wife's bank statements, showing her paying the mortgage, along with a heap of other stuff....................

And I have not bothered blanking out the a/c numbers.

Hi Doyle, nothing to add to the replies so far since they all sound good. I'n curious about your RFE though. What did you submit and what other documents did they ask you to send in the RFE?

Doyle, you will be fine. I bet you will be approved in around a month after submitting the response to the RFE. I saw a lot of folks that we approved around a month after responding to the RFE and it was the same with me.

Good luck, but I don't think you need it. You'll be fine
