HELP! ESTA denied

Well you don’t know what the problem is so you have no idea how long AP may or may not take. It could be a very quick denial too if it is a major reason for ESTA denial. I’m assuming that the issue is not a security issue background check type AP, which is what the long APs usually are.  And if that is what the problem is, it will make no difference if they do it in London or Belfast as per your suggestion.

Don't worry about AP now, you need to get the application in asap if you want him at your wedding. And it matters what embassy they go to, after they submit the ds160 online they can see the interview dates for both London and Belfast. Belfast may offer a quicker appointment than London.

I hope someone can chime in here and confirm if London allow walk in appointments or 'premium service' for b2 visas. I couldn't find anything online about it.

Panic over!

He should get an appointment after 3 calendar days for London and 17 for Belfast.

I'm only talking from experience here, I got a B2 like 4 years ago and the process was about 2 months waiting around.

Nothing changed though, he still needs to apply asap, especially with Christmas coming up. After interview it will take 3-5 working days to issue.

I wouldn’t mess around with this. If you want him at your wedding I’d apply ASAP. If it’s a error on the esta he will still need a b2 because it’s a denial. Looks like the processing time is 2-3 months. You also have the option of going to Belfast.

Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you! He has started his DS-160 and has spoke to someone at the Embassy already. The time crunch is on and with the holidays I may need you to cross your toes too!

Finger's crossed! Good that he has already spoken to the Embassy

I really hope you get it, would be difficult if a parent that wants to come get denied. Good luck and report back!

Discussions about how long can not be sensibly commented upon without knowing why a B is needed.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

He has a interview scheduled for Thursday. I have a feeling that his ESTA was denied due to an error on his part. When we filled out his DS-160 with him, he put his name in wrong. Love that man but he is not very attentive to details!
