Congrats! That is a huge relief I am sure.

I wanted to give an update on my petition. So we were finally approved and issued the visa on April 15, 2019. Some things I have learned on the way because we had an RFE. When it comes to taxes, they prefer the Tax transcripts over the 1040 (I find that strange since both say the exact same thing). Plus we needed a PSA copy of my late wife's death certificate-which I though the copy I had would suffice.

For us, time was not an issue and we just went with the flow. We had our interview on March 25, 2018, paid for the visa at the embassy. We were issued a 221g at the interview because of the above missing documents (even though we had them-but not the way they were wanting it). So once we returned home, we were able to send the documents to them on April 3rd. April 5th they received it(Friday) and on Monday, April 8th, 11th, and 12th, we noticed date changes, but it remained at "Administrative Processing." Then on April 15th, the status changed from Admin to ready and very quickly to issued. So hopefully the passport will arrive soon, even though there is no status changes concerning the mailing of the passport (it just states to expect it in 7-10 days).

I am glad this part is over. It is the second time I wen through this process (the first was with my first wife (K-1 visa). The second is the CR-1. Our goal now to is possibly travel back to the USA sometime in June. We are grateful for the experience for sure.
