I’m sorry to hear you came across people like that in that city, certainly other parts of the US that would be more expected. I know a number of biracial couples in NYC that embrace the city for its diversity.  

As an observation it’s interesting that you criticize it for having met racists but NYcruiser seems to think it’s too liberal.  Ah well, the beauty of the US is that it’s big enough and different enough for everyone to find their spot, whatever type that spot might be. None of it detracts from nyc being an amazing and iconic city for tourists and certainly many people get visas just to visit it and are not disappointed. 

 

Disclaimer, I have close family in nyc and have spent many months there over the past couple of decades.
